  1. Waah! Ensembles barely scratching 20C out to the end of the run! And a distressing level of agreement on the 850 temps to boot.
  2. Is the train coming back? The forecast doesn't match the radar at all!
  3. 35C here this day last year. 13C today. I'm at my desk both days, makes no difference to me. Schools are out on Friday. No conclusive change in the ensembles.
  4. Not every day, the weekend looks very windy for July, especially Sunday. West Kirby:
  5. Anyone for 3 minutes of continuous thunder? And I only stopped the video because I got bored of holding my phone steady, was still going when I started the upload, but not by the time it finished! PXL_20230709_155948637.TS.mp4
  6. Strong intensification as the cell moves through Manchester. More T&L but less torrential rain than yesterday. Lots of the lightning isn't being picked up by the detector networks.
  7. It certainly doesn't feel any fresher here now the rain has passed
  8. Two weeks left till the schools break up and it looks decidedly meh. Lowish pressure throughout so probably plenty of rain for the garden. Hope for some excitement today to make up for it.
  9. Much brighter today, sunny with bubbly clouds. Cooler than lately, I don't see the temp reaching the 20s for another week now. I see the papers are making up an imminent heatwave again.
  10. It wouldn't be so bad if it was actually contributing some rain to my garden, but despite cycling to work in very light rain, nothing measurable has actually fallen. What they used to call "trace" rainfall on weather reports. Instead, it's grey, cool and breezy.
  11. A last bit of weeding before tomorrow's open garden and I'm dripping! Open tomorrow, I'm at St Brannocks Road is anyone's interested. Hope the storms hold off until 4.
  12. Not much here since the overnight storm, just a couple mm, but when did we last see a radar image like this?
  13. Another 22mm of train out of that. If we get another lot later it could be the wettest day for a long time. Plus two strikes within 300m of the house makes up for the general low rate of lightning.
  14. I see the enhanced lighting detection in the app still can't see any of this My Lightning Tracker app can see it. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jrustonapps.mylightningtracker
  15. Very close strike, less then half a second to the thunder. Made me jump!
  16. Very light rain here, not forecast at all. That's a good sign for tomorrow I reckon.
  17. GFS has us quite wet late Sunday afternoon and evening. Not much CAPE forecast so maybe more general rain. The Met O has us on light rain then showers at the same time.
  18. Lovely here now, a nice fresh feeling outside. Hot again later, but temps are lower than at the sa,e time yesterday so perhaps not as hot. No cloud though, which may help. Rinse and repeat next weekend?
  19. Mostly stopped here now, just occasional thunder from the west. We've had about 20mm rain from that. To show just how dry it has been: it's all been absorbed by the top 3cm of my soil. Still bone dry underneath. This is an area I spread compost on on Friday, nice and loose so it hasn't just run off. PXL_20230612_185751321.LS.mp4
  20. Pea hail and plenty of rain, woohoo! PXL_20230612_175235874.LS.mp4 T&L too, but muffled by the rain.
