Dear god things have taken a turn for the worse in Washington DC.

Here is what my friend woke up to at his back door.

There is talk of weather warning for us from this Jonas storm but it won't be snow when it gets here Tuesday Wednesday.

What a difference a day makes. 24 little hours.

I've just been chatting to my guy in Baltimore. He took this video having strapped on his snowshoes. Reckons he will go well over the 2 foot mark. IMG_8522.mp4

Here is what he woke up a short while ago.

Starting to build up for him. He cleared his drive on the second picture so I assume this was late evening with him. Be interesting to see what he has now.

This is what he got after 30 mins of snow starting.

In fact just checks with him and the first flakes are just starting to fall. He told me he will definitley get pictures.

I have a friend lives in Baltimore and is expected up to 30 inches of snow. I'll be asking him for photos and get them posted to here. whilst part of me would love to be there for it that amount of snow could be crippling.

Got really cold this afternoon and all of a sudden quite foggy. Cleared very quickly with no noticeable wind picking up. Doesnt seem just as cold now. Keeping the fingers crossed.

Merry Christmas to all you folks. Its not been snowy but it has been nice to kick back a bit. Ive got 1.5 gallons of home made spiced mead thats ready to bottle so probably gonna give that a burl later. New Years storm you say. I saw a few charts that looked truly awful and NI weather has got some warnings up. Still thoughts with our north england brethren with those floods. Going to have to look at the the model output threads and see if there is some serious ramping going on or is this likely to pull off. Turkey sandwhich anyone??

My drive today took me from Ballyclare to Coleraine to Dervocl to Cushendall to Ballymoney and then back to Ballyclare. Had Sleet all the way from Ballymoney. But then it turned to snow as I left Ballymena. I drove over the colin hill to get to Ballyclare and the snow got thicker and thicker. The lady driving infront just slowed down and stopped on the hill. I overtook her and then felt guilty so I pulled into a layby on up the road and ran dow to her. I offered to drive her car to the layby and then run her home in my car which has 4WD. While we had this conversation a car coming the other way drove into the car in front and then shot across and hit a car going up the hill. All very low impact stuff. Couldn't get her car going at all so i turned it and got it down to a lane and we left it there. We walked up the hill to my car and it turns out she lives round the corner. Im picking her up in the morining and taking her to her car. Really unexpected and big flakes. Very welcomed.

Jeaaakers!!!!! She's cold out there. Probably about time to stick my annual head back in here. Nice bit of snow here earlier but got a bit wet looking now.

Ha! Just looked outside and it's snowing again!!!

If this polar low was snow we would be getting hammered!!

We got a bit of a thaw in after some very heavy snow. Seems a bit mizzly now.

Met office warnings extended out to Monday! Cool. Still got loads of coal food and booze! Roll on weekend.

Working in coleraine today. Snowing now. Cleared four inches off cars and driveway this morning. Get it cleared before any freezing might occurs making it really difficult. Hope weekend delivers!!
