For myself, it's more than made up for the interesting weather events that occur. My love for snow will always be greater than any other type of weather, including thunderstorms.

Well no event like snow generates the hype both on & off the forum that's for sure. Such a rare thing though and a lot of naffness to wade through to get those precious few days!

I associate "usable" with "cloudy, the odd bit of sun and the odd bit of rain", but that might be the fault of the TV forecasters! As for "boring" weather, it's been non-existent in N Yorks so far this August!

  4. 2 funnel clouds today with lots of thunder and lightning. Only missing the large hail and tornado and we have the complete set...

I often look at global figures and think our 'extreme' totals aren't so extreme.. warmer air = more moisture to rain out.

Would be interesting to have been on Reunion Island for the world record!..

  8. Amazing - Aboyne at 24c on Tuesday now has a weather watch for 10cm of snow this tuesday!

I don't think MOD is that relaxed in spring unfortunately- we get the dreaded "switch flick" where enjoying snow becomes the crime of the century after 23:59pm on the last day of February lol!

We had a severe thunderstorm warning with a tornado warning just down the road in Hillsborough County. One day we were on the I4 and we got caught in a thunderstorm, the rain was just incredible. The interstate was literally brought to a standstill. It was the heaviest rain I had ever seen and will probably not be beaten for a while.
