On a completely different note just been out in the garden at 11.15 beautiful starry night with half concealed moon, but moving rough fully se to NW very high was a bright light think moving to quick by far for a plane just wondered if anyone spotted it. Checked space station route but not near here by all accounts . Anyone any idea what it could have been?

Hi all hope you are all enjoying the weather.. the wife has found a house in a village called Leadhills. Looking into it and I think it might be worth a look. Could be fun for winter time. Anybody here near that area and know what it's like.
Hi, my grandmother lived in Leadhills late 70s , the top road behind Leadhills was blocked by snow for several weeks. Wonderful spot and always plenty of snow

Several hours of heavy snow in Rheambreck this morning but annoyingly I am in much less snowy Stockport. Back home girlfriend has been ordered out with camera and tape measure...

Strange weather here sleety rain and at times snow but general slow thaw before temperatures finally dropping this afternoon with snow setting in. First picture shows plenty of water funnelling down Achness Waterfall followed a snowy deer by the river in Glen Cassely and then an increasingly snowy drive back to Rheanbreck. Bitter Northerly has eased though.

Not the best of pictures but awoke to heavy snow again after yesterdays brief dalliance with a thaw. We had about 2 inches with more through the morning before more rainy sleet in the afternoon but Northerly gale setting in now so expect more snow soon. Just lower down towards Rogart just slush and not a flake A9 to Inverness. Second picture of the thaw yesterday.

Sunrises and sunsets can be amazing, especially in winter.
Another stunning day, minus 5.3 this morning and only -0.6 now at 1pm. Further inch and half snow last night then a stunning sunrise which I alas mostly missed. Looks like brief milder few hours before snow sets in again later Saturday up here.

Day off today split between a morning walk and poking about the garden this afternoon. I'd say the garden is 4, maybe even 6 weeks ahead of where it should be. Hopefully the coming days / weeks will slow it down.
Barely a cloud all day.
Stunning winters day here after yesterday and overnight snow, temperatures today only just nudging zero.
