Height definitely playing a part here, 160-180 meters above sea level in this part of Telford, on route to work this morning was snowing at top of the road and then pure rain 5 mins later by town centre (around 100 meters lower).
Sods law really winds looked ideal direction all week then at the last minute change to a NNW.
If we don't get anything tonight i'll just return in Spring as you know GFS will be the correct solution for next week.
NMM a bit more hopeful at least for tonight!
Unfortunately just rain here tonight, no sleetiness, fingers crossed tomorrow night - ideal wind direction and upper's for once! but will the showers appear..?
Yikes lord have mercy gave up chart viewing and posting for 2 weeks, viewed once last week finally and saw the most incredible easterly and winter on the way which I instantly knew would fall apart, didn't bother viewing charts again till today and shock horror as usual it's stuck over the north sea god forsaken washout muck again.
Only difference now is changed from 12-15c washouts to 7-9c washouts, great. I'll try again in another 2 weeks.
Looking at the 12z it's safe to say 2015 was the worst year in living memory weather wise here and I won't be posting till January as 15c drizzly muck does nothing for me.
To sum it up:
All spring and summer warmth/sunshine confined to working weekdays with washout cool weekend's, attempted snow events in January/February washed away 2 hours later by mild upper's and rain, dullest November on record, those southerly tracking lows at the end of July.
Only redeeming features were the thunderstorm on 22nd August which was fantastic (first proper overhead storm since 2008) and the glorious late Indian Summer warmth at the end of September. Other than that good riddance and i'll be back in the New Year, hopefully 2016 will bring the return to real seasons/excitement last y ear Jan-Jul 2013.
Don't even need to elaborate on today's weather, know the drill by now, oh to have even winters like 2013 back, didn't seem that special at the time but after 18 months of howling 40mph winds and 11c any change would do nicely.
Unfortunately the blandest, mildest most sunless run aka the ECM is always the one that happens these days.
Immune to any other weather here since August 2013!
The first non awful day in a while today, still mostly cloudy BUT the sun did indeed briefly come out this afternoon and finally not that endless damp, pleasantly mild to 13.8c max.
You have got to be kidding me, another sunless weekend of endless rain on the way, wow weekend's this year...
Can see the routine already, rain all day Saturday, clears south Saturday Night then slams back in Sunday, thankgod for Vitamin D lamps.
