Heard Jo speaking on LBC earlier; the immediate outlook still looks mostly Atlantic-driven. But, just because neither computer models nor forecasters have pinpointed any major imminent pattern-change, doesn't mean that a change'll not happen anyway - four weeks is a long time?
Well put, Gibby...We are still a long way from seeing anything properly wintry, IMO: a few days' maxes between 3-6C and some sleety showers isn't all that much to get excited about...It'll come, though, just not quite yet!
Who else recalls that viscous storm in early 1989 (that flattened millions of trees) that didn't make the mainstream news? All I remember is that Glenurquhart looked like Tunguska after the metoeor ('ite' if it hit the ground!)) in 1908! What did the BBC, ITV news report? Nothing, zilch, nada...
