  1. The latest snow and ice chart for Europe and Asia in the Northern Hemisphere.
  2. Meggy the QE11 seems to be very prone to closures, either because of the weather or traffic accidents. London road and the roads connecting to the Pilgrims roundabout is another place that has heavy traffic and is very prone to traffic accidents. I still don't understand how BBC weather did not put a weather warning for Thurrock and surrounding areas last night.
  3. Last evening when I looked on the BBC weather website for South Ockendon, they did not have any weather warnings for this area.
  4. It has been quite windy in Thurrock during the night and early hours of the morning. The QE11 bridge was closed both ways from midnight and opened in sometime in the morning. This caused long tailbacks of traffic that only started clearing by midday. There has been widespread disruptions to the train and bus services.
  5. The snow has made big increases and spreading further across Europe. I hope this trend will continue.
  6. It is a beautiful sunny and warm day in South Ockendon. The temperature at 11:15 am is 7.1 °C . The barometer pressure is rising slowly at 0.3 mb per hour.
  7. By the time the sun came out, it was very weak and only lasted for a few minutes. It then clouded over and then it has been raining steadily for over two hours. The temperature now at 18:20 with humidity at 98%. The barometer is rising at 1.0 mb/hour.
  8. Here is the latest snow and ice chart. The snow and ice are making very slow progress and any increases made is done at a very slow pace. I hope this will change soon and that there will be more improvements in the snow and ice.
  9. Current Stretch: 3 days 2018 total: 7 days (47%) Solar winds are flowing from a coronal hole . The solar winds should reach Earth on January 19th and January 20th. These winds will be spark G1 class geomagnetic storms.

  12. Second spotless day, I hope this will be the start of a run of spotless days and hopefully it will more than double what we had last year.

It is raining heavily today and I went on to the Thurrock 4.4 °C and the dew point is 4.1 °C . The barometer pressure is 999.0 mb and it is falling at -1.7 mb per hour.
  17. There was strong bright sunshine earlier in the day which melted all the frost away by the early afternoon. The sky is clear and It is getting colder now. The temperature now is at -1C.
