  1. just checked out the models for tomorrow morning. slight variations on timeing betwwen 4am-6am, but all show a line of sleet/snow passing. Have a feeling though that your asl is going to come into play
  2. Being known as the weather nerd at work and trying to explain what i am seeing in the charts to my colleagues. Has also always been a problem without losing their interest but now thanks to the wonderful well thought out post by @snowking i think i'll try again his way
  3. Pics backed with that days newspaper's. Big thanks to the mods for allowing a lighter note into the model forum, 2020 the year we all need to bin from our memories.
  4. have been waiting for something, anything. even a crumb would do. I think i'll give it another 4-5 days before i check again, maybe the fence sitting will be over by then.
  5. currently 14.3 at work but did get as high as 15.4 at one point. wind between 27-34 gusting to a max of 47. precip not measured but on and off for most of the night. hoping the coming week will offer cooler and drier weather.
  6. September. Kids go back to school. Daylight fading fast I go on Holiday? More and more people at work start to moan that it's cold(which i normally get blamed for as i like the windows open because im boiling)
  7. September at last so out of the box i come, hoping for early Autumn frosts and some of the white stuff over winter. so will poss get another damp soggy mess for the next six months. Hope not as it's started to spoil my fav part of the year. Fingers crossed
  8. great pics @Mr Frost however here in the staffs moorlands its been an autumn that i intend to put firmly at the back of my mind. Wall to wall, Wet grey crud.
  9. this time of year i always start the big tidy up in the gardens. NOT A CHANCE the soil is so waterlogged even my garden wellies are hiding.

  12. morning all, hope none of you have lost a roof overnight, wont find out till i get home later. had roof cladding come loose in the night and two windows got blown out, very noisy night to say the least
  13. Met and beeb are keeping stum, on what is to come. Wonder why?

  15. got everything i can cross, crossed for this. Finish work on the 15th for 15 days second half of that will be spending time in the lakes.
  16. 4.1C 97mm hope i'm totally wrong and the temp goes south but with the Atlantic firing at blighty who knows
  17. Mine is still set up for last winter, on the odd occasion it's fired up for ten mins or so over the past week or two. However l think the dramatic drop in temps this saturday will have it firing up for much longer periods.
