  1. Surprised at these comments really, radar looks encouraging to me for developments over the next 12 - 24 hours. Chill everyone, am enjoying Polystyrene Fest down here today, first time since 2009
  2. Lol Tom This time we already have 2cm whereas that one we blanked, so we done better already, Id bank that
  3. Been snowing since 630am here non stop, as others have said settling easily on trees, cars, grass and sticking to everything giving that Alpine Look, a decent base for later
  4. Yh that would make sense, some of the Bouys in the N Sea between Norfolk and Holland are down to -5 to -8c at present way off to our NE
  5. Dewpoints over in France and Belgium still 4-5c - Should that not be lower by now ?
  6. Ah ok, think their dewpoint reading might be a little skew wiff then
  7. Are you sure that Dp is correct Paget ?? Lowest in the Southern Half of the Country atm is 2.2c at Farnborough, if so very impressive and 2c lower than anywhere south of Newcastle
  8. Hey Big Man, all good here frantically getting things ready for the Chase Season in 7 weeks. Would be great to have you back out there its been a while Hope all is well in North London and the beast pays you a visit, lets see how the dewpoints go as we near Midnight, gunna be a struggle though I think
  9. Mini Beast starting to show his teeth already at the Estuary's Mouth Low cloud streaming in from the North Sea 16z Temp of 15c 18z Temp of 9c 20z Temp of 7c 2130z Temp down to 6c Wind ENE at 13mph Its Coming!
  10. Thats where most head to Mike, its right next to a nice diner as well as other eateries. Guessing as its still 3 months away some replies might come in over the next few weeks on who is staying where etc
  11. Some places will hit the Jackpot, dont doubt it but not expecting this to hang around too long. The suns strength today was something else with those 14c temps in London, my rule of thumb for decent spells are 5-6 days of dry easterlies before the event first cooling things off to even give the snow a chance to settle, going into it with temps so warm over the last few days and then a rapid drop off never bodes too well. Even with 1-2 hours of sun with intermittant cloud is going to have a massive effect on this, the only way snow can last is if a decent amount falls and then winds whip it into drifts. Still amazing to see another shot at winters last throws though
  12. What I have been amazed about is that this set-up is not rare at all, and I really thought it would be for the time of year. Have found at least 5 matches to the synoptic charts on offer and even one for March 29th 1952 when 30cm fell in the South East with 6ft Drifts in places. The Famous 1952 Oxford v Cambridge Boat race was completed in a full on blizzard.
  13. Well we fly out 8 weeks today to Set-Up for our 14th Stormchase Season out in Tornado Alley This year will be the busiest yet with 7 Tours running and it all starts in Early May, there are a lot of newbies once again for the Upcoming Season so this will be a great thread for answering any questions you may have or any worries you might be wondering about. Any question big or small then just ask away and myself or one of the team or indeed regular storm chasers who have been before will be on here to answer any nagging queries. Also if any of the regulars have tip and tricks then please put them in this thread as well. This can be for things like what to take, electrical etc Regards Paul
  14. Been an amazing week. First the powder snow great for sledging Tues to Thur and now the wetter snow last night great for snowman building and the kids did a great job this morning.
  15. Hi Sarah This post must have got missed with all the snow mayhem on the forum. Welcome to Netweather and see you on Tour 1, not long now and those 9 weeks will fly by!
  16. Yh, I reckon we might get one more day sledging tomorrow (am) before the slopes go to slush. Will be out early with the kids over Langdon Hills tomorrow for 1 more day of winter fun!
  17. Had a quick look around the region at Dewpoints. Seems there is a wedge over London, Kent, South Essex that dewpoints are at between 0c and 0.5c so looking likely you dont want the precip there. Further West and South West through Surrey, Berks, Herts, Bucks etc the Dewpoints are -1 and -2 so that is doable. If your in Essex or Kent, Blob stay away!!
  18. Defo, the kids had played out the front and left it with patches of grass and just measured, fresh new 8cm, the snow is a lot wetter which denotes its getting more marginal, hoping it just stops dead and clears for the night so sledging can ensue tomorrow
  19. Blizzard again, this is relentless, seems to be the moisture feed off the Isle Of Sheppey and keeps regenerating. Easy had another 8cm since 4pm.
