I really hope this verifies, but it is just one run from one model....I need to keep my distance for now, I can't get sucked in just yet! -

You can almost feel the bitter wind blowing.... I have a video of the snow drifting but it's too large for the forum! -

Quite heavy snow in Peterborough again, wasn't expecting any this morning. I wonder whether that next batch of showers will make it across to us in the strengthening easterly wind? Thoughts anyone? -

Don't worry It's all quiet here now and it looks as though the next band of showers will miss Peterborough and hit further north, so Market Deeping or Stamford way. -

Its amazing to watch the sky turn from bright orange to almost, dark navy when the skies clear. It now looks seriously cold with the anow cover. Noticed that the met office now predict heavy snow tomorrow morning and afternoon for Peterborough. Updated just a minute ago. -

Heavy snow again in the northern region of Peterborough. After this shower it will be a case of wait and see to find out whether that potent cluster in the wash comes to anything. Edit: I wasn't expecting much so I'm properly chuffed -

Probably a good couple of cm on the ground now and sky clearing ready for the next shower. That line of bright red in the Wash looks like it may just slip south of my location, as I'm towards the north end of Peterborough. -

Fantastic weather over the past two days, one of my favorite types. Frequent, heavy thundery showers. One of the pros of living in the fens is the beautiful wide sky! I love that shot of the passing shower with the view of multiple cells firing up in the background -

It's difficult to make out, but it looks as though a seriously strong gust knocked the camera out at the end... -

The forecast for Peterborough this morning was for peak temperatures of 27/28, but instead it's only 23 with 100% cloud cover. How was such substantial cloud cover not forecast! As I'm guessing this is the major blocker for any storms forming midland and moving north? -

Drove up from Peterborough to get a better view of the storms over Bourne/Stamford and saw some impressive and often frequent lightning, at one point it must have been every 5 seconds at its peak (cell over Stamford). The cell over stamford dropped some reasonable hail (pea sized at best) but unfortunately faded away before I had a chance to stop the car and take pictures/videos. Next time! -

The cloud cover has lifted over Peterborough and it feels like the temperature has doubled...definitely feels more oppressive than what was forecast. -

Sainsbury - I traveled just north of Peterborough and had on and off lightning/thunder/torrential rain for over 2 hours, that shelf cloud picture was taken during on of the breaks where visibility improved just enough to allow an peek at the cloud structure!- 2,726 replies

Have been driving just north of Peterborough and encountered some very intense stuff. Lightning striking overhead with near instant, sharp cracks on thunder. Eventhough the storm continues north from my location, there is still frequent thunder and lightning. Brilliant!- 2,726 replies

Very heavy rain in Peterborough with thunder and lightning. I was trapped in the garden shed for 30 minutes!
