Michael, a belated message of appreciation for all those years service to me and all those folk who utilised and enjoyed your forecasts.
I became interested in meteorology when I was 14, way back in 1971, and was an avid fan of you and your colleagues standing in front of the myriad of fronts and isobars!
I used to quickly sketch the charts onto a map and then copy the shipping forecasts so that I could have a map of my own.
I always support you when I hear comments about the October 87 storm, and I know full well that it was impossible to forecast the ferocity of that event given the lack of data at the time.
So, I'd like to offer my respect, and love, and I hope Parkinson's disease does not treat you too unkindly.
