I'm also unsure about today.. Euro4 less keen to break things out for the western risk area i.e Dorset until later into the evening/night now (this for Midnight):

though it does also seem to be showing lower temperatures than are already occurring.
I wouldn't mind some after dark lightning photo opportunities if I do venture into Dorset later though.

Then it seems keen on stuff for the SE

    Blimey where is that? Ashingdon?

    Near, Hockley

Doesn't surprise me - used to live near that bridge and have never seen it that bad.. My station has recorded 92.4mm so far and looking at some of the pictures coming in a few miles east/west of Rayleigh I don't think its far off..  We've been stuck under the main intense zone from around midday and it hasn't stopped at all.

  3. Lots of thick cirrus and a little bit of altocumulus castalleanus to Newton Poppleford Weather's WSW. Posted Image

78.3 mm of rainfall? Posted Image

Yes William - now up to 86.4mm here since midnight..  We had 3mm when I got up at 7am but it's been torrential all afternoon.   Southend and surrounding areas a no-go zone.   Look at bbc.co.uk/travelnews/Essex to see what I mean.   Not bad for the driest area of the UK!
