I had better get a decent photogenic frost next week, like many down south I am worried that winter could turn to mush.

Cold, blue sky, light frost here. I still don't understand how to read the models fully but gfs for my area is not exactly looking great. We had better get a storm, snow or icicles this winter

Yes the warnings were justified and pretty accurate, in a very tricky forecast situation. Had it snowed in the south east it would have been really quite deep (for the south) and the usual chaos would have unfolded.

Snow....what snow Storm....what storm A lot of rain in my area since 6pm with some very heavy downpours Was never too excited about the marginal snow risk but definitely expected wind gusts around now. Another Paddington Poo weather event, but glad those who got snow did.

Met office now shifted the warnings up away from the south further, its no snow for us in the south now but maybe strong winds.

If anyones getting giant flakes as has recently been reported, please try and take some pics. thanks

Hello all and Merry Christmas, I wasn't sure where to ask this so hope its ok here. Is there any chance of a hoar frost in the south east next week ? Also, on the beeb weather site its showing 'some' snow graphics for parts of the south east / north of London tomorrow ? cheers

Well the warnings show that the meto now have confidence in track, timing and severity of the low. So if your south of the midlands its a typical case of "nothing to see here, move along now".

Ive been watching this storm since it first showed up on the models, as usual it has received many downgrades. If it was going to be anything noteworthy I think the meto would have had yellow warnings on it today, this is obviously just my opinion. And yes im a bit gutted that its not going to give me a decent storm in my area = imby. Now that ive said this the met will prob put warnings out today !

Hi all, I worked extra hours all week and kept an eye on the warnings. About 2pm I cycled to the nearest hill about 5 miles away and was immediately under a storm, I could here thunder but couldn't see lightning, it was a bust. Visibilty was crap, then half the sky cleared, sun came out and I was rewarded with a close, clear cb which grew tremendously fast, cascading all over the place. Hi all, Thought I would add my youtube page to this part of the forum. I have quite a few timelapses on my page with a fair amount of lightning, cloud structures and a couple of videos that show thunderstorm formation from start to finish. Fantastic lightning David, yes it looks like ball lightning to me. The lightning strikes must have all lasted quite a time to get them slowed down that much from a camcorder running at 25 fps. Well done

I cant edit my own posts yet but wanted to apologise to anyone who remembers me from nw,ukww or two - for my previous behaiviour some years ago.

Not sure where to post this but here goes, My name is Michael and I used to be a member of nw, ukww and two a good few years back. I lost contact with everyone when I discovered I have a mental health illness, paranoid schizophrenia about 3 years ago and started acting strangely and somewhat childish on the 3 main forums. I have some pretty good weather footage and have re-uploaded it to youtube and this time will keep it there instead of constantly deleting it. I am on very strong medication now and trying to rebuild a busted life. I hope to become an active member of this forum again.
