  1. I keep forgetting about the cold front which may be 'squally' as per the warning above, this could give some unforecasted gusts in some areas.
  2. Stop it, im getting all excited again, nooooooooo were all doomed
  3. I promise to cheer up, there is still a notable storm on its way and thats not changing now, i will go out in the worst of it and try to find flying objects, maybe some fence panels. Also nice to see that some sort of snow may be real close to my area. And who knows, the charts may start showing a good northerly or dare i say it an easterly !
  4. Some of us (me too) are now getting excited about sleet, lol, blimey is this the best mother nature can do for our 'winter' !
  5. Hi matty, yes your right - it picked this storm up ages ago. Unfortunately i allowed myself to get excited with quite a few runs showing poss 90mph gusts in my area, which was just the model trying different ideas of what might happen.
  6. Thanks for that, sensible and realistic snow and wind forecast. Even if i did say i was going to ignore the gfs, lol
  7. Latest from the met office wind maps on their website for my area and many surrounding areas, max gusts 57-58 mph. Im now ignoring anything from gfs / gfsp that shows higher winds for my area.
  8. Latest from the met office wind maps on their website for my area and many surrounding areas, max gusts 57-58 mph. Im now ignoring anything from gfs / gfsp
  9. Just finished picking all my cuddly toys up and putting them back in my pram after my tantrum last night. Been model watching for years and I should no better, wait until its in the 72 hour timeframe and see what the meto have to say about it. Northern Ireland, wales and maybe parts of the south coast / east coast look to be in for the strongest gusts, with 50=55 widely in many other areas.
  10. Thanks for posting that Jules , based on that chart I will be going to sleep and staying asleep ! Bah humbug.
  11. Sorry i always forget about the 24 hour gap. I think its going to be max gusts of 50-60 in my area with possible downgrades and unlikely upgrades, thats me starting to be realistic based on previous experience.
  12. I dont like the latest ecm storm charts, showing much weaker winds for my area than gfs and some others have been, i really hope from an imby perspective that we dont start to see a trend north / weaker for this storm.
  13. Hi Daniel, im just getting carried away with it all, im storm starved And i hope to get 'carried away' at midnight wednesday !
  14. That little chart, does show very strong gusts on the south coast, erm i think
  15. Ok, sorry i will shut up. Sorry guys and girls. Getting carried away, as I always do when these events happen.
  16. Thanks saint, so it looks like my area is not under a wind warning.....yet. lol
  17. Hi, I thought thats what it meant but the the symbols by the text show both graphics for wind and rain for my area. As you say, maybe some of it is due an update. Ive just clicked on the 'yellow warning of wind' for my area and it goes straight to text saying 'yellow warning of rain'.
  18. 2 shades of yellow warning on the latest meto warnings, confusing, well it is to me anyway. Im in the lighter shade of yellow warning.
  19. im simply looking at the colour shades from purple to red to light red and the se has lightest shade of colour within the storms windfields. Yes its an imby post, i just want more than gales. Maybe i am reading it all wrong ?
  20. Met office current warnings dont agree with some of these charts, personally after looking at the charts posted in the last 2 pages of this thread I can see the south east corner having the lowest wind speed gusts, just my opinion on the recent charts in this thread.
  21. Who knows what the 12z will bring, upgrade / downgrade / northgrade / southgrade. Interesting model watching right now.
  22. About flippin time we got a storm warning down here, winter is not winter without a warning or three.
  23. Yes, especially as Mr gibbs on the tv has said that there will also be a fair amount of rain tomorrow for the south. Add that to 20-40 mm from the storm and there will definitely be flooding.
  24. Nope, it would be utter chaos but, i love 'severe' weather. If i went tornado chasing in the states i would have to be kept on a leash !
