  1. Can anyone confirm that these cells are moving in a westward direction across the west midlands? On radar it look like there is a westward shift. The wind has suddenly picked up here in Worcester and the temperature is currently 19.1c
  2. Well the Queen must be getting a proper good show right about now... :-)
  3. Is there a westward shift going on or is it simply just an expansion of this line of storms running from southeast London to Preston?
  4. Just seen some flashes in the distance, think it must be the new activity coming from Stratford Upon Avon area... It looks like the storms are expanding further west as the night goes on.
  5. This cell forming just north of Worcester has some real power and constant thunder.
  6. Constant thunder from a storm that's just started north of Worcester and just had a very close and rain free CG....
  7. Agreed but it was a nice little surprise none the less and something i didn't expect tonight. Well tomorrow i'm on the road all day at work driving up and down the motorway from Worcester to Bristol 3 times so fingers crossed the weather provides us all with some fun and entertainment :-)

  11. Nothing here in Worcester now but i could hear the rumbles as well with nothing showing on radar. The cell is near Redditch by the looks of things and heading slightly east of Kidderminster.
  12. Was a real nice surprise to look out the window just when it started to spark, about 10 decent flashes but now it's all gone quiet again.
  13. The rain here in Worcester has slightly picked up now, not that heavy though, pressure has now dropped to 981.2, still falling fast and just recorded a wind gust of 41.5 mph on my weather station.
  14. Pressure here in Worcester is still falling quite quickly, currently at 987.8 with light rain. 15 minutes ago my weather station recorded a gust of 27.8 mph so we will see what the night brings... Stay safe everyone!
  15. Well i'm shattered after such an amazing day of storm chasing, in the past 24 hours i have managed to see 5 storms, now thinking of an attempt at sleeping, the bedroom has other ideas... 27.8f and 67% humidity :-/ oh hum... Anyway good night all and so happy so many people had a great storm satisfying day.
  16. Had an amazing day today, started my day by Swindon, when the storms were intensifying just east of Bristol, managed to get just infront of it then stayed right along side the storm as it headed north, stayed with it until i got totally washed out just north of Nuneaton, never seen rain and hail that bad also the amount of branches and debris on the road was crazy... Headed south after only to see the large storm over Oxford some 50 miles away so could not resist chasing that one and all i can say is wow.... After 300 miles on the road chasing all i can say is thank you mother nature and to all the fab people on this forum. Amazing day and great to hear so many people got there lightning fix today :-) lets hope for many more to come this year.

  18. Constant rumbles now in Worcester to my south west. oh that's a loud boom!!!! no rain though and very still air, 21c and 92% humidity. The power dipped really bad then!

  20. Got a few flashes coming from the direction of Gloucester now and i'm 21 miles away and can hear the deep rumbles of thunder!!!
  21. Very deep rumble of thunder here, the kind that vibrates the walls.... oh what to do, do i go to sleep with my phone going crazy as the cell moves north to Birmingham then wake up if and when things kick off in a couple of few hours or just stay up all night. Really want to be out the house by 8am to get into a good chase position near Swindon on the M4.
  22. Just had a couple of decent bright flashes a few miles north east of Worcester and distant thunder....
