  1. So, this rain band thats rattled up and through the Midlands (see screenshot) That isn't supposed to be the thundery stuff for us Midlanders, is it? The electric stuff is now starting to form behind it, and in the channel, and then starting to fire up? So, I reckon these t/storms will arrive around Leicester around 14:30 Does that sound about the right sort of ball park? Or am I in the ball pit!!
  2. Best advice I would say is radar watch, you just cannot tell with this sort of weather set-up..
  3. Here's a couple or 3 for you.... The bottom one was 01:45, the others between 02:00 and 03:00 hours
  4. The storm that just gone into the north sea off Canterbury, has developed a "worm wound" you'll see what I mean from the screen grab attached.... Is this the storm expanding 360' not just moving in the one direction.......?
  5. Storms moving out of Spain as well, from around a well known bank! And the channel islands spawning now..
  6. It's quite an elongated thunderstorm isn't it, narrow, but long (fresh strikes along most of it) Timed: 02:11
  7. That's quite a compact, narrow storm, putting out quite a lot of strikes per hour.. Meanwhile, the main swathe of rain has nearly cleared the Midlands, we've barely had any rain in central Leicester... Wonder if that lot moving up further west peps up in the latter of the night hours as it reaches the Midlands (3am - 5am) times??
  8. Didn't think I was seeing things earlier, that also explains why it vanished so quick!!
  9. Is it possible if the main rain band was to drop 100 mile south, it would engage the warmer air and spark-up?? Just a thought ........
  10. So we've got half hour before hell is unleashed on the Midlands!! Time to nip to the local offie and get some bottled water and plain crisps to keep us going for a day or three!!!
  11. It was from the New Met Office App, now that message has vanished!!
  12. No, this is a fresh message, had that one earlier this evening!!
  13. Just had a message from Met Office cancelling the heavy rain warning for my area (Leicester) What is going on with our weather!!!???
  14. A clear a straight dividing line...... rain / no rain, see netweather.. see attach 1 This has just popped on for Leicester on the Met Office App! What a laugh that is.... see attach 2
  15. How come as soon as these heavy/thundery showers that Norfolk are having, as soon as they get out to sea, they go absolute bonkers? Science please?
  16. Cloud starting to thin out over Leicester, no sunshine yet, but def warmed up last 30 mins....
  17. What set of conditions is feeding the storm that is still lightning it's way in the north sea at the moment.....?
  18. We've got low, grey, dank, sky above Leicester at the moment, must be a fair bit of moisture in the air as all the rain that fell between 03:00 and 07:00 has evaporated...... No wind/breeze whatsoever, it feels like just one of those days after a night of big thunderstorms, but we didn't cop one. It just has that "feel",if you know what I mean?
  19. Leicester??? What's the crack??? Eeeeeeeeek! We gonna cop a load then?
  20. Yea, great effort, i'd take that accuracy any day of the week, well done!!
  21. We're there any lightning strikes over west/east midlands, east anglia from that large mass of heavy rain that moved north east over the country overnight? Not inc the storm that's exited the east coast over the last half hour or so...? Not sure if I dreamt this storm, or it was real!!! (Leicester) between 03:30 and 08:00 this morning!
  22. Some forecasts lacking accuracy, placement, and quantity of the wet stuff.. Currently absolutely hammering it down in LE3 (Leicester) @ 03:19
