  1. It's hard to believe I can see the storm over Oxford from here now!
  2. Yes, looks like the wind direction is changing too, so it might corral these storms. Met Office app shows a complete 180 turn around over the next couple of hours. Seems I was wrong!
  3. The storm between us and Ledbury looks to scoot past us, up into North Wales, I think. The stuff further south might get us if it expands. Or we'll see more cells pop up elsewhere. My view is South/ South East, so a good vantage point of the horizon (not as high up as you though!).
  4. Impressively quick cloud development in the past hour in Brum- plenty of chonkers bubbling up.
  5. Dramatic cloudscapes popping up all around here, so made for an interesting walk to work- I was probably the only person looking up, rather than down at a phone
  6. Main line has passed through, and now I'm wondering if I can get to work without getting soaked- just depends if what's south of Ironbridge is heading my way or not.
  7. This beastie has crept up from behind.... ....and just heard a rumble!
  8. The tiny little storm cloud over central Brum is giving a nice little pep of rain right now.
  9. Just started chucking it down here, but just heavy rain- no sferics.
  10. Some lovely shots again, you're developing a good eye for a moody composition that highlights the beautiful drama of good stormy weather @Eagle Eye
  11. We're being blessed today with these, and you have such a perfect unobstructed view! I lovely the unearthliness of mammatus; one of my favorite cloud structures.
  12. Woohoo! I was incredibly lucky and spotted these beautiful Mammatus just now as they churned overhead.
  13. Woke up to a light covering of snow here too As mentioned by others, you're not going to get much forewarning of these snowfalls, so don't take apps as gospel.
  14. Is that a streamer setting up in the Cheshire Gap on radar?
  15. Subscribe to read | Financial Times WWW.FT.COM News, analysis and comment from the Financial Times, the worldʼs leading global business publication The Financial Times ran the same story a few days ago, where they mention that ' ministers were calling on ENTSO-E, the EU’s electricity grid operators’ network, to present its update on risks to the security of winter electricity supply in October, a month earlier than usual.' So there must be some reasonable amount of concern.
  16. You can appreciate just how dangerous it is to be in water in a hurricane by taking a close look at the Dominator's bodywork in those pictures- where it's been submerged, it's covered in hundreds of dents.
  17. Ryan is covering the second landfall right now.
