  1. Had some hail here 1.30pm. Looked decent size too nearly half an inch they looked though could be clumped together.
  2. Had belter this afternoon. about 1.20 pm absolutely belting down with hail too. We was not in any convection zone so puzzling as looked convective. Hail not large couple mil diameter. My weather station shows sharp drop in temp and sharp rise in dew-point at the time.
  3. Happy new year everyone woke up to frost here surprised met had no warning for here.
  4. strong winds looks like at present 60+ winds here.
  5. did not think weekend was particularly strong here but it was enough to rip part of the greenhouse roof off. Possible few storms lately weakened it.
  6. thank you thunderbolt. So by my maths, we got 14 occasions lightening storms was over here during this period, amazing.
  7. Last night was quite a show heavy rain and lightening. Just read Supercell storm chase following it towards north sea. Also read saw footage of the Tornado, Funnel cloud or land-spout at Sleaford. Reading a debate on how they developed what even were them. Seems few locations had them Sleaford, Northampton, Tewksbury and Leamington Spa.
  8. 10 Flood alerts and 45 Flood warnings been issued for parts east coast at risk Some on the west even been issued. This due spring tides and storm which bringing higher waves with the wind direction and its strength has possibility to test or breach defences.
  9. surprised met not widened there warning there own website forecasts very heavy band rain from Yorkshire to Suffolk from 1am to 10 as the system rotates.
  10. was that rain in the channel showing showing extra rotation looked like on rain today
  11. this low in north sea whats risks for storm surge on the east coast. I am seeing forecast of 3-4 m height waves although highest winds being forecast to be force 8.
  12. interesting morning Tony Gilbert reporting. bowing line in the south around Portsmouth. In Lincolnshire some woke to high winds a lot rain with sustained S shape convection.
  13. Despite in MDT on Nicks assessment, I am thinking we probably safe from the worst, though tempting fate here, which can be always dangerous thoughts. Not the storm worrying would love the action just worried about the rain and the damage it could bring.
  14. the met warning heads towards us but comes short. I feel though might get extended when they know more
  15. aye we only do small is that pic the famous mexico sinkholes
  16. hope not we cant take anymore rain. We had 24 hours worth over monday tues 21 mm. Yesterday sinkhole appeared not big in size but deep 4 foot, it shows how liquidated the ground is. http://www.grimsbytelegraph.co.uk/Sink-hole-feet-deep-appears-Grimsby-road/story-27638095-detail/story.html
  17. is there heavy rain inbound off east coast looks like scarborough region on rain radar
  18. heavy rainfall now near aylsham norwich accord to rain today
  19. first one has slight risk hit us on the rotation. However the large rainfall on the live radar near Bristol looks more north than predicted slightly might clip here on the top, but hard to tell direction. Ireland got nasty one too to watch its track. However the second system forecast to give us heavy rain sunday.
  20. Yesterday we got a storm did not last long but also snowed with it this classed as a snow storm.
  21. going to be very interesting period rainfall too. Met got us under yellow for both rain/wind with very low impact suggesting met not overly confident of strong winds.
