This is giving live updates ( saves trawling through lots of pages) .. Question though is Florence still off the coast ( this says 75 miles) so they haven’t got the worst yet? .. sorry am out of touch.. she’s a cat one now I understand . Slight bit of relief I suspect but still doesn’t reduce the biblical amounts of rain due.. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/hurricane-florence-live-updates-path-tracker-latest-nc-sc-weather-trump-georgia-today-category-a8535451.html -

Indeed. There is always that focus on ‘a right’ to do something .. but there’s the responsibility sometimes seems to be forgotten. Whatever choices have been made I wish everyone well and all come out physically safe n sound. -

I’m not critising about how people want to make something of themselves or ever will.... So get that right as I hope you aren’t trying to make that point at me. Btw BBC made an interesting piece about why people stay too... I’ll try to find it.. but herd mentality was one of them, and as it was such a rare thing people genuinely don’t know what to do.. -

And that’s probably the main reason- I have heard it said by a few being interviewed .. “need to look out for my stuff.. it’s all I have” So true materialistic with no care for a life, and only things. The very very sad thing is there won’t be either left when she goes through, and nothing left whatsoever to loot. -

That mentality is beyond my comprehension.. I read on some news post someone said “, I am staying here cos all my stuff is here and I don’t want it looted” .. -

104 miles? That’s not far at all. Context for me is from my home to Brighton.. -

Good call Azazel. I believe they have been ordered to leave so tell him do as they say as it will only strain emergency services if there is a problem. Pack up and go!! -
Valid point frosty, these warnings aren’t just for general folk on where you have a potential for a light show, rumble grimblr and flooded gardens, but to help emergency and other vulnerable care services plan in the event the potential comes to full realisation I’m that area. Seems Metoffice have done a Stirling job from some of the reports coming in.
