Storms and Convective discussion - 1st May 2022 onwards
Weather26 replied to Supacell's topic in Storms & Severe Weather
I think we may get some unexpected storm action at some point tomorrow or Tuesday that hasn't been picked up on. -
My part of Sheffield has had hazy Sunshine and off and we've got to a maximum of 29.0C but will probably be more hotter tomorrow/Tuesday.
-
Imagine if all of this turns out to be a bust after all! probably not but you never know.
-
Yep It seems The part for Sheffield has the Thunderstorms starting at about 9:00pm on Tuesday and running through all day on Wednesday and has been quite adamant about this for the last day or so.
-
It's not Just London where the temperatures look troubling on Monday night-i'm suprised anyone will be able to sleep on those sort of temperatures.
-
I wouldn't be surprised if more outdoor events for Monday & Tuesday are called off.
-
Now this completely misses the point of @Jo Farrow's post!
-
Then clearly this country doesn't get the definition of "national emergency" which should surely mean everything (barring essential services) coming to a halt when it reaches a certain or at the very least working from home should be allowed.
-
Seriously, why am i seeing twitter comments from some celebrating 40C when this is a national emergency-that should be a stay at home order even if it is only for 2 days next-infrastructure won't be able to cope.
-
Dear god, surely there is no way on earth anywhere is going to be able to function on Monday and Tuesday in this heat-This is Grim.
-
And roll on an autumn similar to 1976-a wet one!
-
Well it can turn round and go away again very quickly-no thank you to round 3!

How on earth does it come up with freezing dew points in the middle of a heatwave?! -

Yep-Tuesday and Wednesday could be an absolute cannon for thunderstorms-and the temps go down by about 12-13C or so on Wednesday-Think we can nail on that Tuesday defitely appears to be the end of the heatwave, the question is when? -

Famous last words on the last bit since it normally turns unsettled the moment we hit the schools breaking up. -
That's the 2nd time that Cobra's been activated this week since there was a meeting on Monday as well.

Well it looks like the breakdown maybe an extended event for some starting Monday and continuing into Tuesday. -
Except this heatwave is different beast altogether and could cost many more lives than the one in August 2020-Getting on with it won't be an option once the red warning is issued.

As i said earlier in another thread, it does look Tuesday PM onwards is when the breakdown happens, rain or no rain. -
And some to Fri 22nd (althrough some may have training days in the last few days of term) but yes definitely within the next week, the schools in England will be finishing til September.

Either way it is beginning to look that Tuesday PM onwards appears to be the end of the heatwave rain or no rain (famous last words and the whole thing gets pushed to Wednesday!) -

At this rate, the amber warning will end being downgraded to take out Sunday since that appears to have dialled down a bit this morning. -

Extremely high from the look of this. -
I was talking if it had happened a week later with the schools shut but yes 40C should be the trigger for Level 4 surely?
