Just had some of the heaviest rain I've seen in ages in South London.
Glad I read the met's forecast for 'scattered light showers' before heading out with a now very wet dog!

Weather is generally pretty easy to predict in this country. Apart from folk like us that are a bit nerdy when it comes to the finer points, basically it's always .
Winter- Mild
Spring - Cold
Summer - Meh
Autumn- Wetย
It rarely deviates from that broad brush.

Now then. How perfect is it today. 21c now. Milky summer sky. Gentle breeze. Just perfect. Same again tomorrow too.

ย SunnyG Well at least us Londoners will be guaranteed a few blazing hot weeks during the summer. Only around the corner.,

ย SunnyG Yup. We were planning a BBQ this evening and I advised everyone that it was going to rain based on the Metro forecast .
Dry as a bone .
Incredibly poor forecasting...yet again!

Torrential rain and hail now here in SW London. Just at doggy walk time. I suppose that's the '10 percent chance of rain: the Met Office said.

Just checking in to see if everyone is ok?
Spent the day under the bed here in South West London after the weather warning of 50 mph winds. Doesn't look like much damage. The bin is still upright and the dog is not too bothered.

Hope our northern friends survived yesterday's great blizzard.
There has been a lot of rain in London in the last 36 hours.
Nice and mild today though. Good for an early evening dog walk after work later. Very muddy though. Good job I don't mind that. Best get used to it looking at the forecast.
Mind you,the forecasts have been pretty rubbish recently.ย The forecasters whether they be the Met Office or the amateurs on here haven't covered themselves in glory recently.Best just look out the window.
Meteorology and Climatology remains an aspect of science yet to be cracked.

Dreading the return of the Atlantic Mild Wet Wet Wet.
Been nice to walk the dogs on frozen mud, all change from the weekend, back to muddy boots and the dogs giving me dirty looks while rinsing paws or a full on shower down after a their walk....ย
I'm actually quite looking forward to it. At least it's real potentially eventful weather and this total waste of time cold will be gone. Agree with you about walking and washing the doggy.

I think it's going to be close I did look on the charts earlier and it may come inland a bit.ย
This evening's weather in the SE just shows the professionals still can't a handle on this sort of set up.ย
Imagine if the air had been much colder and this was all snow.

Incoming cold ramp in the MAD thread. I honestly dont know why they put themselves through it!
Well at least the risk of Equatorial Fluxing has passed. Imagine that after a load of stuffing on Christmas Day.,

Reminds me of Sweden a fortnight ago funny thing is they will lose their snow cover this week by the looks of it! As I was leaving there was several inches more snow there too so glad I visited I'm looking at doing short breaks to Denmark and Norway next maybe Lapland when the budget allows lovely photos pal!
ย
ย
Great pics both! Post them on the MAD thread for a wind up.ย
I didn't think Scandinavia and Finland were going to get any more snow what with global boiling etc.ย
They must have been taken well away from the heat radiating runways mind.

My daughters gone skiing with her school, was meant to go to Spain but there was no snow so theyโve gone to Kitzbuhl instead, massive upgrade and plenty of snow.
What genius would decide to organise a school skiing trip to Spain. Teachers nowadays eh.ย ย ย

Well at least there probably won't be any drought issues in the SE next summer. Always a worry. ย

20c is still a bit of a nip in the air under cloud.Having said all that 20c is just a distant dream now. The long march to April begins.ย 20 weeks to go.ย
May in most parts of the country to be fair. Looong way away.

Another decent day in London. Mostly sunny with temperatures up to 14.2c. Quite springlike actually. Very brief shower this morning but otherwise very decent day.

After the morning damp, fog, misty drizzle clagg has cleared the afternoons this week have been fabulous here with warmth, calmness and sun
Same here in the capital. Very decent afternoon again. Calm and sunny. Quite spring-like actually. The Met office lady promised heavy squally rain. LoL

Make the most of today and tomorrow. Early next week is shaping up to be brutal here in the SE.
Though to be fair it's the met office forecast so maybe dig out the flip flops and factor 50!
