Quiet in this regional thread - anyone had rain in South Liverpool
Around 11am I was driving (or perhaps I should say sailing) the roads through South Liverpool (Childwall, Woolton, Speke). The rain was intense and for a duration to start lifting manhole covers, as pointed out by my other half. I must say I need need 100% concentration on keeping to the road since kerbs were lost under the water !

First rumble of the day heard here in the peaks
Looks like you're to receive the rain I drove through at 11am (please see above)
Enjoy !

Strikes to the west of Derby, if only they were moving W to E. As it is that shower will pass to my west. Plenty more showers to the north-west though and some are producing sferics.

Grey but not raining
That must have been when the rain stopped here the first time and it's finally stopping here for the 2nd time 7 hours later

Most active storm in living memory in Shropshire, the thunder was constance/ lightning trigger on the camera constantly triggering.
I have never heard thunder like it, constant train noise rolling non stop for 30-40 minutes.
Strike rate recorded 202 per minute during the most active part.
Just got underway here .... hope you've not took the best from the storm ?

The MetO has me (Warrington) down for the best temperature on the 22nd at 18C at 01:00, the rain takes hold and that temperature remains down below 18C all day !
Even GFS has the rain here so I'll be watching for any slight improvement or perhaps the reverse, with warnings from the MetO with great interest this weekend.

I am sure there s a huge anvil over the River Mersey/Irish Sea area, I've not got a good view now as I am too near. Can anyone a bit further away see it
Sorry too much low cloud from this direction !

Thunder gone, rain subsiding after 30 minutes of quite intense rain.
Lost the heat too - don't expect any more today !
-
Also, the temp dropped 6.5c in 15 minutes.
Thanks for the confirmation, I thought I had temp gauge problems here !

Praying that those storms south west of me can reach my location!
Seem to be heading straight up the M6 into Lancashire !

Little rain so far, weird.
Heavy rain just down the road

The cell south of Chester looks promising but too far South for me.
The activity to the West of Liverpool is fading , even so this is probably going to my North.
Oh well, back to the radar ...
-
Noticeable if you were under it, just got soaked making my way back home !Cell has passed off to the west of here, lots of thunder, 2 IC , only noticeable if you were looking for it.

The 72hr fax from the met office matches this. Certainly one to watch in the SW of England with regard to rainfall potential now

Great show at 6pm from the M6 Thelwall viaduct. (stationary traffic helped tonight)
It appear to be building up around Warrington again
