  1. If someone abuses the pm system in some way then it's switched off, but that isn't automatically the case if someone has a posting restriction. People can also choose to switch the pm system off themselves if they wish, so it could also be that.
  2. Unbelievable... Locking this for the time being.
  3. Just for the sake of clarity and to stop people ending up with posting restrictions and the like, please have a read of the forum guidelines, noting the parts about being 'nice' to people and showing respect for others opinions. http://forum.netweather.tv/index.php?app=forums&module=extras&section=boardrules
  4. Yep a bit pants that - we've made a change to the model physics just now which has speeded up the convective development a tad.
  5. There's a thread for the noctilucent clouds - would be great if you could post those in there too http://forum.netweather.tv/topic/80231-noctilucent-clouds-2014/
  6. Hi all, we've updated our forum guidelines today to include our new 'be nice' guidance among other things. The aim is for everyone to enjoy the time they spend on the forums, so please take a couple of minutes to have a read of the guidelines (most of which are simple common sense points which the majority always adhere to anyway): http://forum.netweather.tv/index.php?app=forums&module=extras&section=boardrules As always, if you have any questions please let us know, and if you see any issues on the forum which you think the team need to look at please hit the report button and we'll check it asap. Thanks Paul
  7. Show Shows up quite well on here - rising air until about 500hpa, then capped. Still enough convection about for some sharp showers though.
  8. The model prediction is looking at the atmospherics but also the precipitation forecast at that point, so even if the atmosphere is primed for a storm, if it doesn't expect precip in your location then it'll say 0%. Once we're at close range though it's a case of nowcasting and watching the radar etc as storm/convective development is by nature very localised.
  9. Nick's issued a storm forecast this morning - slight risk of severe storms: http://www.netweather.tv/index.cgi?action=convective;sess=
  10. We found a disk problem on the server which serves the extra charts that may have been causing those issues intermittently, hopefully should be resolved now though.
  11. Is this in netweather extra or on the free charts? (Ps - was away last week, but have your feed at the top of my todo list)
  12. The UK forecasts are actually from the NMM models we run, but Nick is right in that all forecast models can be wrong at times. That said, looking at the data from yesterday afternoon it actually quite closely matches the actuals from weather stations in the midlands and was showing 21-22c with broken cloud as far as I can see. So if you were seeing something different, please can you email us (here) with info on the postcode/town you were using as it may be a location error. Also, are you definitely using the UK forecasts and not the world forecasts, as the UK ones use the NMM which is much higher-resolution. http://www.netweather.tv/index.cgi?action=uk7dayx2;sess=
  13. Please continue the discussion here. As ever, some of topic chat / banter etc is fine, but please try to keep a weathery theme running through the thread
  14. There's a note on the page about this - there are some data transmission issues with the ukmo data at the moment, hopefully sorted soon. Edit - in fact looking at the page they've been resolved from the 12z yesterday.
  15. That's correct and has been the case for a couple of months now
  16. Sorry, am still working on it - I'll email as soon as its ready
  17. Hi Jordan, it's a subscription product but you can access the radar archive on netweather extra, if you have a sub already it's here (back to 2006): http://www.netweather.tv/secure/cgi-bin/premium.pl?action=radararchive2;sess=
  18. Amazing video of a mothership supercell from Roswell (yes the alien place) the USA storm chase here: http://forum.netweather.tv/topic/80575-video-of-roswell-mothership-tornado-really-very-cool/
  19. New thread up and running for today - locking this one now. http://forum.netweather.tv/topic/80569-storm-and-convective-discussion-9th-may/
  20. Please continue here, more quite potent storms possible across part of the UK today, and some potentially very severe ones in parts of Europe too...
  21. I can't recreate this at all, having tested on all server with various image types.
  22. Same as above, all is working fine this side.
  23. I'd suggest clearing your cookies and cache, that should solve it
