Cheers all.
@Ed - Will definitely look to do something with alerts on there, and good point about the storm forecasts will see if we can't feed them + the map in.
@Nick - Definitely going to have radar.
@Mike, good idea, I think a swipe between charts is do-able so will put that on the planning board. -
Some good snow at the higher levels of the Portes Du Soleil today - good call Julian!

Great news Bob, should make for a nicer Xmas for you and your family

Lol, the idea of an anything goes thread scares the life out of me if I'm totally honest!
I see where you're coming from with it, but I just can't see it ending happily when someone reads a post about themselves in there - it's one thing saying it should 'stay in the thread' but the reality would probably be very different and we could end up with more hassle than we started with at times.
The dislike button was something I did quite like, but the majority didn't share that view to be fair, and I can see why as it did create a few issues of it's own with people taking offence to negative votes and posting about it etc. -
Yep, we have tried a variety of split thread options including dividing it into longer and shorter term and the problem with it is that a. the discussions do tend to need to be together - eg what happens short term has an effect longer term + as RD says people will post in the wrong topic etc so it actually makes the job harder at times.
We're hoping to make an edited summary thread soon which the team will manually copy the most informative posts into for those who want a quick read without the discussion around it. -
Thanks for this Julian, am looking forward to following it through the winter.
-
We hope to be able to have a smoothed version Peter

We're not going to be able to run both ATD and StrikeStar I'm afraid -

We've only just finished the main move, with a few extras still to do next week.
That said, we've already put the world cup forecasts online:

Thanks Jan - we're certainly still growing, we broke the monthly traffic record on the site every month in 2009 and have started the same way in 2010 too

One of the reasons I moved from southeast England! Rush hour in this part of the world is like a quiet weekend morning on the roads down there!
