  1. In a nutshell - very zonal and wet. No real prospect of anything notably wintry or cold for most popuulated areas in the forseeable. Scotalnd's higher ground may do well. Very mild for the south on the Big Day maybe - BBQ Turkey & plenty of booze to drown the coldies sorrows
  2. A very marked D10 difference between ECM 0z & 12z just highlighting how much uncertainty there is. 0z 12z
  3. Very uncertain this morning but the concensus, from the Op runs at least, seems to be an average / mild Bartlett type Xmas for much of the UK apart from Scotland, where it may be a bit more seasonal, especially on the high ground. Otherwise, pretty mediocre fare,
  4. A bit like the nearly defunct Question of Sport - 'What comes next?' - could be interesting n'est-ce pas ?
  5. Appalling post Xmas Op run typified below. Lets hope to *#%* the GEFS & ECM give some hope. Shorties are OK so far.
  6. Thanks for the Boxing day kick in the goolies GFS 18z - ridiculous chart That being said, the GEFS are looking better with cold clustering evident are Christmas time & the Control run diverging from the Op. T2M's taking a dip as well so all is not lost .... Yet!
  7. GFS 0Z Christmas day - Mild as toast GFS 12Z Christmas day - Cold as a Coot. Just goes to show all options are open still - even a New Year easterly brewing
  8. So a wet, windy & mild Christmas for most followed by a massive Bartlett and very mild for all into the New Year (diabolical charts) - now there's a surprise...
  9. Flagstone crackingly mild next week looks to be the nly near certainty with a lot of scatter later as we approach Christmas. The Scottish may be lucky and hit the festive jackpot. For the rest of us the usual Swearing AGAINfest although a slight hint of a cooler look later in FI
  10. Flattening out and Business As Usual for Christmas by the look of it. A cool blip at best, if that - probably. Organised deep LP to the north and Solid HP to the south - can't put lipstick on a pig.
  11. ICON first off the blocks and a nice fat Euroslug . Just needs to ridge up northwards nicely between the split Vortex, pretty please... Ha
  12. Is Uncle Bartlett taking his seat at the Christmas dinner table? TBH a slight cool down later this week and a strong mild signal the week after, then a lot of noise so anything goes. Exeter's generally mildish theme for most seems a fair.
  13. Isn't it a bit early in the day to be on the sherry? Seriously though, the GEFS to trend nicely down after the 22nd with the Op & Control runs in agreement - always a positive.
  14. A pleasant Xmas if the Op verifies in FI. At least it'll be fun over the next few days or so instead of wrist slitting Bartlettism !
  15. GFS 18z pubby trying desperately to give us a white Christmas. A snow covered Europe is always a help.
  16. Suffice it to say that FI GFS offers a significant difference 0z to 06z with the later offering a glimmer of hope for a longer term colder evolution.
  17. A one or at best 2 day toppler then business as usual. Yawn
  18. Who's dreaming of a Bartlett Christmas? A pretty wretched chart - viewers are warned that the GFS 12z run may contain upsetting images.
