  1. Keep eye on precipitation radar here http://www.raintoday.co.uk/ Showers beginning to form off Lowestoft/Southwold coast in East Anglia...possibly coming down to North Kent. Will need more Easterly component to hit Western areas it seems.....lets see!
  2. Slight snow cover now below 305m aslYn edrych hardd/ Looking lovely
  3. Snow cover up on Hiraethog (denbigh moors) above about 1100-1200 ft (350m ish), wet light snow passing by now
  4. Still some areas out of the sun with full snow cover between Llandegla and coedpoeth (above wrecsam) Snow covers on shaded slopes behind Llangollen...still some snow on branches haha ...crazy after all these weeks
  5. Still a good 5 inches here......with up to a foot on certain slopes;;;;though melting fast on roofs/hedges and edges of things
  6. I dont buy that population excuse.....14 million/3 million/ 10 billion.....all arbituary values. Human life is human life. For example, Families with small babies and children above the village Bwlchgwyn had to be rescued after being drifted in for 3 days without electricity......some had used up their OWN furniture just to keep warm. There is some drifting 15-20ft over some roads here. Maybe down in Cardiff you dont hear about this, theres been very little about those stories on the media.
  7. Not sure why people are surprised that the UK state would rather bring the UK army out for the South East of England for 6 inches of snow.....but not care about us in North East Wales... Unless you've not lived here long....most people arent surprised by the lack of media attention...or help Its an age old tradition! ... enjoy!
  8. I can sympatheise.....I was trying to walk on a hedge without impaling myself coming back from the store...but slipped into the 6ft deep buried road....the snow drift was upto my mouth and was going down my coat.....I had to keep calm and dig my way up then crawl upto the hedge!....so tiring...no wonder people have heart attacks in the snow! Foolish I was I know haha
  9. Nefoedd wen! Dan ni'n cael ein caethiwo gan yr eira trwm eto! Good heavens! We are being snowed in again! Thanks wind! ....................... The lane leading out is quite a deep sunken lane here and yet its filled upto the tops of the hedges. Had to cross along the hedges to reach the village shop for supplies! ...................... I was walking over the hedges here. (above and bottom) Took this picture at waist height ... as glare was causing problems ^^^ Further down the lane
  10. Ddoe - Yesterday , - Attempts to clear snow off objects/plants
  11. Any news from those higher up towards Llanarmon Dyffryn Ceiriog or over towards Llangynog/Llanrhaeadr ym Mochnant?
  12. In Corwen to the west of you we have about 12-14inches.... we are more in the "rain shadow" of the Berwyn Mountains here so not as bad! Snow depths are very uneven here though (strangely as there was little wind)....some slopes have 2 foot consistently....others only 6/7 inches??? ...got chillblanes from that excursion hehe Seems those east of the Afon Clwyd and east of Corwen got hit worst then looking at those pictures down the ceiriog and alyn valleys
  13. Surely in Buckley you can still reach the shops? I recall abandoning the car once 2 miles downhill at the main road for about a week during that 2009/2010 winter and carried the shopping back on trolleys ...madness really
  14. Sorry not to post any wider shots/landscapes...but poor visibility and camera was getting "soaked" lol Snow build up "Yn y cefn" .. by the backdoor 3rd pic lol
  15. http://www.dotet.co.uk/index.php?type=webcam&id=3 Snaefell / Isle of Mann
  16. Some areas above 1000ft already have 30cm in NE Wales btw
  17. Lights have been flickering but nothing too bad Icicles forming. Over an inch of snow in the last hour...Wonder where the band will stall?
  18. The next band has hit Oswestry/ Wrecsam border area btw
  19. Hmm in comparison to other nearby areas, Im wondering if I was a bit more sheltered than others (I was on the leeward side of the Berwyn Mountains) Corwen to Rhuthun area, snow turned to that horrible frozen pellety stuff (11am onwards) that seems to aid melting! Snow Conditions at 700ft/210m asl: Compacted a fair bit since this morning and becoming wetter, slight melting on roofs Snow depth down to 7-8 inches 305m/1000 ft asl: Snow depth around 8.5 - 9 inches. 350masl quarry to my south was about 10 inches...... Wonder how deep tops of Berwyn are?......Cant see them or the Bryniau Clwyd....must be snowing heavily to the east hey Hywel? P.S. Took a fully charged camera on a 2mile walk to picture the landscape .....as soon as I went to take a photo...it said "battery exhausted" grrr....wont try until tomorrow... too knackiering.....dwi wedi blino'n lan!
  20. From the radar its seems Bala to Dolgellau/Cadair Idris etc... been hit particularly My location is sheltered from the wind and is lower down in a valley and yet reporting 5 inches here ...there was already an inch of snow above 350m before the snow hit so probably much deeper up there Time to sleep I think, wonder how powerful the sun will be tomorrow
  21. Woop!...Finally sticking to all surfaces. Guessing then that the Snowline is around the 700ft/750ft asl mark...as of right now (and dropping!)..as grass just starting to turn white here
