  1. Chris Fawkes (and other experts) are saying that none of the models have got Emma correct and that it is indeed more east than first progged (Met O have just updated warnings moving them more east too), all I am saying is that the 18z runs will have the latest data so hopefully might show a shift in the precipitation forecast.
  2. The 18z Hi Res models will be very interesting... as whether it's hopecasting or not, what is on the radar is not what was forecast from any model. This is an exciting evening for sure.
  3. WXCharts are saying the the HIRLAM has predicted Emma the best (But still very wrong) and luckily for us it's the best one of the bunch... IF and a big IF it is further east and north then we can shunt this forecast N and E too.
  4. I'm looking at all the High res models and none have the precipitation right at the mo? Any update from UKV?
  5. WTF is going on with the winds, out of nowhere this evening I have what feels like at least Gale force winds up here...snow is blowing everywhere (bit its falling very lightly). I walked the shop before and was in shock how cold it was. My hands were numb in gloves within minutes. The wind is still roaring outside, seems to have come from nowhere?!!? Without doubt it is THE coldest I have felt in the UK. The wind has caused the bits of snow I have up here to go into drifts, they do look amazing. So, what's the latest with Emma? Any further east? lol
  6. I hope you do too mate. Snow makes memories. Anyone know where the UKW puts the precipitation tonight?
  7. Hi Nick. South Cheshire was always on the edge of the predicted area for this front...could the eastwards shift help us this evening?
  8. I agree, had a few hours off the radar and the snow has remained light outside with the radar showing minimal too. I get the idea of the high ground of Wales perking up precipitation but Chester seems to be under heavy snow for the past few hours, how TF? haha. That is lower than in Crewe etc?
  9. I'm getting wound up now, which the weather should never do so going to take a break from the radar and if it snows then great but can't watch it painfully disappear. Would be ok if I knew other belts would defo hit us but I fear they will when temps raise and then it won't stick.
  10. The Cheshire Gap hole opens up once again...
  11. How intense does it predict to get? ...yes I should just spent the £3 ahhaah. Thanks for the info BTW
  12. Running the frames it definitely reinvigorating! Let's see what happens?
  13. Yes it does, bigger flakes are starting to fall now and it does feel darker. Hopefully this is the start of the reinvigorating of the band? Maybe our friends with the posh app could update us?
  14. Omg, could the Cheshire gap on the radar finally be filling?!?!
  15. haha. I know. I want to see drifts in the street etc. The ground is frozen and prime, just need a few hours of constant snow to give me what I want!! haha.
  16. It's funny you say that as I was only thinking the other day "Why don't i seem to remember 2013"...and it's because it wasn't memorable here. I know I'm frustrated about the lack of snow but I know it's just because it's such rare synoptics (sub zero temps) that I really want to see a proper event. I have seen some amazing things but I don't want to wait another 20 years until I see it again!
  17. You couldn't make it up!?!? haha. The front has just reached here but on the radar it then peters out! It crawled all the way here and then gave up.
  18. Cheers Karyo, yes I have got that but I think it just uses the current data and moves it in line with wind direction etc. Would be interesting to see an app that knows when things will reignite etc?
  19. ahh cool. I have seen prediction radars but they just use the current radar and 'move' it, if that makes sense?
  20. I am too. I am grateful for what I have seen so far but it's barely laid anything down, a few cms at best... I want a true sub zero fall where it'ts blowing in the streets etc. Cheshire has been one of the places with the short straws this spell, for example, the streamer that has been consistently over MCR...why not a bit further south? Just interesting to wonder why? As we have less high ground to our east so you think it would be easier for precipitation to make it over. Hey ho. Anyways, not giving up hope just yet.
  21. Where are you seeing this buddy? Is it a prediction radar?
  22. I hope so as it is heading in our direction. Cheshire is literally the only blank area on the radar in the North West. I want to have a front move in with sub zero temps so it can really do it's magic... I'm just worried that by Saturday temps will have crept above meaning a slow thaw or snow not sticking.
  23. I totally agree. I would rather have one good spell of a decent amount where you can sledge and build snowmen etc than lots of little events. Yes, I have seen some beautiful scenes but I can't help but be disappointed when you factor in what is all around me snow wise. I really hoping for a dumping so my nephew who is 5 can actually play properly in it for the first time.
