Wind and icey ran here

Just wet and horrible here as it has been for the past 24 hours. The falling snow was pretty but when it doesn't settle its horrible underfoot on the grass. Just hope for a covering later!

No real settling on pavements or roads here, just a muddy slush. Snow still falling but I guess we're going to not really get much settling here in the low lands. Shame!
-
Snowing fairly heavily here but not settling well at all. Shame, we have the amber to our left and right now but of course being so low down I doubt we'll get much. Cheshire Gap showers put more down!

Snowing here still but not settling

Been snowing for over an hour but it is too fine to settle.

As with these situations everytime, it'll be a nowcasting thing. Look at todays system, much further north. I'll take a 5CM at low level Cheshire though to coat everything.

Snow and ice still sticking around in shaded spots here. Driving across Woore and towards Newcastle today, I was surprised how much lying snow was still on fields! A fairly impressive spell out in the country side areas of here.

Bit of a drip here in the sunshine, but I can imagine some of this will hang around overnight again which would make it three days with lying snow. Now I've only been in Nantwich just over a year but I believe that is a rare thing.

Snow falling here this morning with more intensity and it being all snow. What time are we expecting temps to make it more marginal?

Soon collapsed as it reached here though. Nothing but a sprinkle.
A very light shower here too but fizzled out. Can we get anything more substantial and have two mornings of coverings? That would be something!

Frozen solid out there, where the snow lay is an icy mess and where's it's cleared there is black ice. Not a pleasant dog walk.

I was surprised to awaken after the sleet/ice to see the snow had stuck around in most shaded spots today. We may see cover for the whole day. I was also surprised to see it whiteover from Nantwich all the way to Birmingham on the M6, the showers must have been extensive last night.

Seems to be sleet or ice pellets right now, temp above freezing. Bit annoying it couldn't last until daylight

A cracking shower just now, belted it down giving a good CM or so now. Was walking the dog and got covered. It's quite a powdery consistency so very crunchy underfoot.

I've been in Haslington the east of Crewe this evening and we have had some beefy snow showers.

First snow of the winter falling and settling in Nantwich.

A lovely frozen day again, harking back to December. Hopefully we catch at least a shower this time around. Some impressive temps considering last week we had overnight lows of 12C-13C. The contrast has been very interesting this winter for sure.

It feels colder to me, I'm still wrapped up walking out and the damp air is no good for the chest!

Bring back last weeks weather. What a miserable week. Wet, cold, damp. Heating still needs to be on because there is zero sun. Just terrible.

Feeling tropical outside, odd feeling given its dark and only last night was below freezing still. It's about 10 degrees higher tonight.

Feels raw still with the slight breeze, but out of the breeze it feels warmer albeit only because of how severe the last three nights evening temps were!

Sun feels quite strong today, rapid melt of the frost in exposed spots. Still cold though but I think we've gone above freezing.

Another very cold morning. Got down to -10, now -9. It feels strange that’ll just get pushed away and it’ll be 11 degrees on Monday, but that seems to be the way of things now. Drizzly misty breakdowns as opposed to snowy ones. I agree that it has been an excellent spell of weather. No snow apart from a couple of tiny dustings but its been pretty much solidly subzero for 10 days or so with such a thick build up of frost, to an extent I’ve never seen before, that it looks like it has snowed. We’ve also answered the question ‘how cold can it get without snow?’ which seems to be about -12!
Great photos and just highlights how wintery it can look without snow!

Pure sleet here, horrible. Even the dog walked straight back in disgust.
