Heavier snow again here, covering grassy surfaces nicely now. Not sure how much energy there is left now though.

Radar is useless at the moment. Not liking the big gap appearing though across west Wales which is the direction of Cheshire. Heavy stuff to north and south of this line.

Seems to be on and off in terms of intensity. Could do with a real big burst to coat the ground better. Mind you three winters and three snowfalls in lowland Cheshire is pretty decent.

Looks like the gaps are filling across Wales now, which is better.

Seem to be on the sort of Northern flank of the stuff so we get heavy pulses now and again but not persistent. Whereas Stoke etc seems to be getting more persistent snow.

Big flakes of snow now falling covering the road and pavements properly.

A slight dusting right now. Hopefully more to come.

Light snow here currently.

It's gone dark here, specks of snow coming out the sky but nothing of note. Hoping that band organises itself better.

We have just endured a power cut since 4.30pm and it went back on about 30 mins ago. Of course that meant no heating, however thankfully I'm in a new build so heat loss wasn't too bad.

Just now, Joe Snow said:
It would - although inland I’m always nervous our elevation might scupper things for us especially in these more marginal set ups.
Yes true, I didn't realise it was potentially a marginal event, but I suppose any system coming from the West would usually be. We managed a bit of a snow event last December I think so fingers crossed.

A chance of snow Sat night will be nice with plenty of people able to enjoy it on Sunday. Timing wise it would be perfect.

Calm as anything here, are we in the eye of the storm?

Seems quite gusty outside again, but nothing noteworthy.

Yellow warning for heavy rain issued outside the usual 11am window. Shocking. It is pouring down though.

The lightning is really impressive. Miles away, bit really lighting up the sky towards the NE horizon.
I've got lightning to the NE and SW!

I can see the lightning from Nantwich from that Welsh beast.

Sun's out just in time for sunset after a dreary day really. Seems the north east have had some big storms.

Very overcast and drab. Expected some sunshine at least to start the day.

There is a cell west of here which was rumbling with the odd flash but has randomly stopped the closer it got. Can't be very electrified now.

Two new cells just forming between Crewe and Shrewsbury.
There was some rumbles and a bit of lightning but it seems to have stopped and radar shows storm only a few miles away from here.

Yes it's been difficult to settle on grass here today but no issues on the pavements or roads. This burst has finally settled on grass, it was very clumpy out the back until now.
We used to visit the Sandbach show houses back in the day. Two great towns to be in!
