Just left Yelverton, quite sleety there in heavier showers.

It’s taken a lot of folk in Cornwall and Devon by surprise today, several centimetres falling leaving people stranded. I think the impact for parts of the South West was very much underestimated today.

It’s been an unusual day in Plymouth. Rarely does a weather front come in from the west give 3 hours of rain before turning to heavy snow given a good covering. Back-edge snow from the west - it’s just odd!

Looking like Tuesdays snow event is a no go for Devon and Cornwall at least. Is it likely that the model may still shift a little further south and slow somewhat given D&C a better chance?

Lovely day here in Plymouth, early rain has cleared to leave a sunny, fresh winters day, perfect for a stroll along the sea front. Winter is by far my favourite season??

A grouping of showers just off the north coast of Devon and Cornwall - could these turn to snow as they move it inland? Is it too early?

Decent chance of 2 consecutive frosty mornings in Plymouth this week (Tuesday and Wednesday) it's been a long while since that happened!

Has anyone noticed the precipitation off the South coast of Devon? Where did that come from? It looks as though its moving north!

Well using this premium site and through my work i have found it very accurate over the last couple of years as to what precip will fall, and is adjusted every 5 minutes as per the rainfall radar we are looking now for a real good dumping, darker pinks for Plymouth and southern Cornwall, although lighter to the east more prolonged
That could be very interesting! Plymouth is sitting right under that dark red. How often do these update?

There is a lot of PPN off the Cornwall coast, still heading North and hasnt moved East yet.
Intensifying a little in the past 30 mins, south Devon and Cornwall should see the first ppn within the hour

The radar is starting to look interesting off the south Devon coast, will it make it?? Time will tell I guess.

Oh... Wish I didn't watch the latest BBC News forecast, very little precipitation hitting the SW or Indeed the South coast generally. Still time for it to change.

well the temps have risen in the last 10 mins from 3.2c to 3,8c whats going on
Approaching rain from the SW, hitting Plymouth now. Lower temps not yet in place for most Cornwall & Devon

Very heavy precipitation towards South East Devon - is it falling as sleet/snow? Will be a difficult rush hour if its falling as wintry precipitation!

what part are you in, st Judes here but mainly rain at mo with a few claps. Temp jumped a degree and a half at 4.3 now
Beacon park, quieter now, hail isn't going anywhere though.... Doubt it'll stick around till morning mind!
