Does anyone know why temps are forecast to increase overnight?

I know I shouldn’t mention them but... automated forecasts now giving heavy snow for 3 hours on Wednesday evening here. Rain up to now, hope that low doesn’t head too far north or south now! Apparently snowing and lying at home, just not sticking in ballymoney yet!

Really heavy precipitation showing near Belfast, what’s the reports surely some snow!

Love this bit just before the event, in my head 3 feet of snow will fall but in reality some will be lucky (Pom, sperrin, MS, boofer, etc) others not so lucky (ahem Rochey) but let’s all enjoy the lamppost watching!

Just checked the MetO automated forecasts, they’ve suddenly realised there’s heavy snow forecast for tuesday! Lol

Guys it’s like the MOD thread in here, manic depressive, we’ll get our snow fix on Tuesday, still half the winter to go! I thought everyone was getting too optimistic earlier in the weekend.

Sorry to be the stick in the mud but with temps above freezing it’s going to be very slushy so not that pleasant, unless I’m missing something!

That’s true, but far more common with easterly’s is cold and dry whilst we watch England get copious amounts of snow! Mind you so fed up with this continuous rain, cold and dry sounds good!

Yeah it was east based, glens of Antrim had 10ft snow drifts, sheep buried alive my uncle was snowed in for a week, we had lying snow until middle of April. None at in laws in strabane though

Yeah Coleraine has done very badly in this cold spell, even Ballymoney 5 miles away and Ballycastle on the coast had more, strange the way it pans out when we’re always getting marginal events up here
