  1. Well that was a scary drive home, crash ahead caused everything on the A3 to stop and with no cars moving snow quickly build up. Managed 20mph all the way home but made it just. Enough 'fun' for one day. That amber warning came a little bit late for many stuck out there. Heavy snow now in Petersfield (west of most of you).
  2. A3 south Guildford now totally blocked and road white. Lots of crashes and nothing moving. This should have been under a Red warning. Avoid at all costs.
  3. Anyone checking the thread before leaving work and travelling down the A3 after Guilford be very careful. In standstill traffic in a blizzard & hard to see where traffic has stopped. Very heavy snow.
  4. Struggling with internet in a meeting, can anyone tell me if the scary blob is heading due north or the tiniest bit east as well? I'm right on the line so if it's at all heading east I need to leave and head home.
  5. Still nothing on the ground here, hoping tomorrow is the day. Walked the dog on Butser here and my god it right through me Seems like everyone is either 15 or 42..I'm somewhere in the middle, any guesses?
  6. Light covering here (about as far West as you can get in this thread) so good news for our region.
  7. Feel like you don't belong in here or the SW thread too then? I've settled here though as it's more optimistic!
  8. Lot's of concern it seems because what was forecast to happen has happened... Has it got cold enough that any PPN falls as snow....tick Are we seeing lumps of snow rather than frontal snow..tick Is most of the PPN lasting across all counties already...unexpected tick This means some areas will get lots, some won't. No apps can pick it up because they are so small it's effectively random. However the more there are the more chance we all get some over time. Just need patience.
  9. I have no idea what I'm talking about if I'm honest but the fact they aren't dying out around London and making to to the channel is something to be positive about for later when it's colder so bigger difference between sea and air (maybe?!?).
  10. I'm surprised to have seen anything here today, even though it was very light and certainly didn't settle. None of the charts or forecasts said we'd get anything this far west so I'm optimistic that when the real stuff comes we are in the right setup.
  11. Anyone under that band just clearing the south of the M25 over Reigate? It's headed my way so hoping for something!
  12. Finally made it though a lot of pages of posts, great to see. Here in the far west of the region and nothing more than a few flakes. Optimistic though as it's just getting started.
  13. MetO now saying max -1 min -7 up in the downs where I am. Nothing about snow but all to play for.
  14. So those car snow socks I bought for the snowless Alps last year might help me get to Tesco next week....worth the money then!
  15. Visiting from the SE forum as I'm with family in Herefordshire. Very heavy rain here at 50m all day has just turned to sleet as DPs dropped to 0.7c. It was horrible seeing all the snow you lot had while I was stuck in the SE so hoping for something while I'm here!
  16. Well the snow wouldn't come to me properly so I went to it. Butser Hill in the South Downs at about 280m so had plenty of snow on top.
  17. Try here: http://www.meteociel.fr/observations-meteo/point-de-rosee.php?region=uk
  18. Is it me or is the band pivoting west and almost stalled over the SE? Bring the heaviest parts back.
  19. After a day of rain yesterday, finally getting some snow here on the south downs just N of Portsmouth. Been about 2 hours worth and it's settling on roofs and cars but it's just too wet on the ground to settle there. Looks pretty coming down at a fair rate though.
