It was quite odd walking home at 11:30pm to hear the higher gusts which must have been around 5000ft or higher, sounding like a high-pitched whistle. Something i've not heard in a while and a ominous sign that once those winds hit ground-level in a few hours time, the damage reports will start coming in.

Yes I can here that too, a constant distant raw that is nothing to do with the gusts. Sound reminded me of something else.

Where have you been I was worried!

Well, tomorrow promises to be a fascinating day ECM and ARPEGE with 70-80mph gusts across our region, however not all models agree so will be interesting to see.

Estofex also cover us in level 2 in winter!! Warning of extremely strong convective gusts, and threat of weak tornado it is happening.

Took a break from the forum, not for any reason really. Was quite busy on Facebook instead.

Just found this out by mistake but if you want to create that Spanish holiday atmosphere in your garden in the summer, release a box of adult crickets. Sounds just like Andalusia 😁

My garden sounds like that anyway, lot's of wild crickets around here. On and off spots of light rain here, nothing heavy yet.

Well before last nights storm activity I thought here on the Essex coast we could be in for some torrential rain, couldn't have been more wrong! we only had 2.5mm in total and today as expected cooler but still feels kind of a humid and a max of 27.2c (hardly refreshing)

Same here, and although we did get heavy rain, it looked like we didn't, if you get what I mean. Someone even called it dry rain, just instant evaporation.
