  1. richie3846 Yes, damaging late frosts are happening a lot recently in C Europe. They have a huge impact. It’s been a bit crazy temperature-wise over the last 3 weeks, got up to 28°C 2 weeks ago and then the last week-10 days has been absolutely baltic. English wine is getting a lot of interest and there are some excellent wines on offer. Quite a few vineyards are being established and French champagne growers are buying up land in SE England, apparently
  2. Alderc 2.0 That’s really bad luck mate, hope you’re comfortable and not in too much pain. These things can heal quicker than expected so fingers crossed this summer isn’t a complete write-off for you
  3. More cloud and feeling chilly yet again in west London, I’ve gone down with a yucky cold to add to the joy. Another frost in Czechia, apparently lots of fruit crops damaged, especially apples and grapes for wine. Late SSWs can do one
  4. Frigid Yes, it’s been a long, dreary slog. I’m not after April heatwaves either, a pleasant 16°C with predominantly sunny conditions and some traditional showers would suit me fine.
  5. *Stormforce~beka* I think many of us true weather enthusiasts are screwed, sadly
  6. raz.org.rain Same in winter. What a miserable climate, no one is happy, be they coldies or warmies
  7. 12°C and drizzling in west London. The foulness continues
  8. Arch Stanton It’s absolutely disgusting. How they can get away with it is beyond me.
  9. The wind is definitely vile. Way too cold. The sun actually has a fair bit of strength now, when it’s out it does feel lovely out of the foul wind, but there’s not enough sunshine, unfortunately. Currently a rather pathetic 10°C in west London and grey.
  10. Perfect summer - 3 months of around 23-27°C every day, above average sunshine throughout, frequent thunderstorms and the occasional heavy frontal rainfall event. Of course, it won’t happen
  11. CryoraptorA303 I planted some fruit trees last year in Czechia and some have baby fruit on them this spring, hopefully they won’t get frozen off. Apricots and greengages, so far. This April has certainly felt warmer than last year, but the last week has dramatically changed that and in west London, I think April 2023 was sunnier. Next week looks better, thankfully, though a real rollercoaster temperature-wise in Czechia
  12. Felt chilly in west London today, but it’s worse in Czechia. They had graupel and light snow showers today in cold air. A widespread frost tonight, too. Not pleasant and bad for the fruit trees
  13. danm Agree. What’s more annoying is these synoptics in winter would’ve been very seasonal and possibly snowy for many. Instead, we half freeze to death in spring. At least the sun was out today, it’s certainly increasing in strength now
  14. danm Very nice to see the sunshine, shame about the vile, freezing Siberian ‘breeze’
  15. The day started off ok here, if chilly, but the howling wind is again in full blast. Eff off already, come back when it’s hot!
  16. cheese No better in Czechia, we’ve gone straight back to early March this week. Some sunny spells, at least, but the baltic wind is just nasty. A ray of hope showing in 10 days time
  17. richie3846 Yes, we’re certainly paying for a few very warm days last week, it’s absolutely baltic in that foul wind. Think it got to the dizzy heights of 9°C today, the joy is indescribable
  18. Got back to Czechia today and it’s been blowing a hoolie with sunshine giving way to heavy showers. Feeling decidedly and rather unpleasantly cold in the wind. Looks like an extended chilly spell here, hopefully some useful rain before it warms up again
  19. Had some heavy rain in west London and it’s blowing a hoolie. Just 11°C, yuck
  20. In Absence of True Seasons True, can’t complain too much, had some beautiful weather here lately. I’d rather have some useful rain than cold now, though danm That’s chilly, at least you’re only there for 2 days
  21. ChannelThunder Haha! Had a chuckle at some of it, though the general level of ignorance/lack of education/fantasy is quite mind blowing, really
  22. In Absence of True Seasons yes, looks a bit better in the UK. Very depressed temperatures in Central Europe.
  23. ChannelThunder I’ve been watching the flat Earthers ranting about the eclipse, it’d be hilarious if it wasn’t so worrying. Weather looks a bit grim for the foreseeable here, ‘highs’ barely scraping 10°C for the next 10 days
  24. Back in London and a very pleasant spring day with hazy sunshine and a respectable 20°C maximum temperature.
