I had that earlier.... somebody said could be power lines getting brought down with the weight of snow....

if you can get up here your more than welcome to come and have a snowball fight.... not sure what the problem is with sky... glad I got stuff on planner to watch.....

A slight lull then wind picked up and now heavy again with strong winds..... no sky signal boooooo....

Weve had trees down local and power outs but this look very much like it was the entire sky flashing only once tho so could be power lines.... weve had the snow sliding down off the roof.....made such a loud noise..

Tree across it in Matlock Bath.... but other than that I think its ok..... going to get tricky early tomorrow tho as temps set to drop again early.... hows things up your way???

Lightening in Matlock.......

Getting heavier here could almost call it a blizzard.... just heard a bang out side so stuck me head out the back door to be greeted by snow sliding off the roof... I got a face full.... stung a bit did that...

I feel like im 5 years old again........ running from window to window checking the lamp post to see if its getting heavier or slowing down....

Yeah lucky that Cromford hill is probably ok if your at the top with a sledge.....

Thick and fast here still...the kids are gonna love it out there in the morning.... will ave the little sods up at 5am for a snowball fight, after all they had me up yesterday at 4am for presents....

Really heavy SNOW here again here after a brief slow down... wind blowing around a bit and its big fat flakes too....

Right guys n gals we are all getting very excited..... but please for the love of COLD we are not to mention this to anybody.... nobody no matter how close they may be to you under no circumstances are we to say anything not until t24.... and nothing to the kids until t0.....

We have seen many a backtrack from the good old GFS....But this has to be the biggest climb down in its history...... fingers etc crossed the ECM doesn't go off on one in the morning..... :smiliz39:

posted this just an hour ago.....classic backtrack by the GFS so it would seem...you just couldn't make it up...

I seem to remember well the cold periods of 2013 being much like this ECM picking up a pattern then the GFS would join in then UKMO would join the party and the GFS would go off on one for maybe 6-8 runs then it would slowly start to come back towards the others....I think it happened every single time...now im not saying that this is the case for the up coming period but I think it is certainly something to bare in mind....
