  1. We finally moved in yesterday, boxes everywhere but getting it sorted bit by bit... most importantly the kitchen is finished and unboxed so i can now cook a family meal and not rely on the local weatherspoons.. landlord left us 2 bottles of wine both of them the wife dont like so guess i will take good care of them.. Log burner works like a dream and gives out some heat which is good. Weather wise its been a decent couple of days with some very welcome sunshine especially today with the car thermometer reading 10c while on the way to Huntly to do a big shop..
  2. Well the first few days in the new hoose have gone well, currently back in Perth b4 Sundays exodus.. im still thinking that winter isn't done with us yet and we are going to see at least 1 more major snaw fest before winter is out.. Also what with the new layout on here?? Very strange and also difficult to find what looking for..
  3. Well as the last few days of our Perth adventure come around and as we look forward to hopefully better things.. the weather seems very pish indeed.. looks like im going to get wet at some point during the house move over the next 7 days. And then once its done and dusted i shall be looking for the mother of all cold spells before the end of winter or maybe a cold snaw filled spring..
  4. Right so the SSW is a bust.. mental pv over greenland America and Canada in the freezer.. ramped up jet stream.. no hope in sight no joy no boom no glory... might get a bit chilly from the NW..
  5. Not as Pish as yesterday.. Not been in the mad house for a while, i may pop in and see what news of the SSW and when the polar vortex is going to explode and bring us snaw from a beast from the east.. please not before 5th of February ❄❄
  6. @Snowandrocks road conditions this morning?? Heading up for a visit to the house later.. Very cold here over night and the ground is frozen hard like permafrost... not much ice about as we've had zero precipitation in over 7 days..
  7. The mad house is all doom and gloom... "February snaw is no good coz the sun is to strong and the days are to long.." does make me laugh when that line comes out. I got a funny feeling we will see a dramatic change in the output soon enough and there is still a good 10 weeks or more for some of us to get some snaw action. ❄❄❄❄
  8. Its not often been through our own choice... landlords can be awful sometimes and we haven't had the best of luck, this time though we have actually met them in person and they are very genuine people so everything crossed that this one will be the last move untill the kids leave.. also firewood situation sorted. The amount of replies i have had stating "not taking on new customers" was madness. Oh yes this is a weather forum. Cold, clear and not a flake of snaw to be seen... better luck next month i guess..
  9. Those of you that have wood burning stoves.. what type of wood do you burn? Trying to source hardwood but really not sure what is best for burning to length of burn etc.. also anybody use these heat logs that i keep seeing? If so any good.?
  10. So is this the polar low ive been hearing about now?? Or is this for later in the night..?
  11. Apparently im set for an afternoon of snaw so says my weather app thing on my mobile. I can only assume that its that large area of precipitation currently moving down from Inverness.. my app obviously has no idea that the mountains will soak it all up and i will get nothing.
  12. Im suprised the Inverness folk haven't been on with plenty of pictures of the snaw because according to the radar its pelting it down in that area..
  13. Nowt here...cold though and the dog didn't want to stay out too long before bed..
  14. There will be a new house coming up empty in Perth in the next month..
