  1. August looking like its going to be a very poor month summerwise.

At least june and july were good.

ps does anyone know how one can delete an account on this forum? i think it time for me to call it a day, amongst some very friendly knowledgable people here there are too many trolls and WUM for my liking and it would seem the mods/owner would much rather punish those who respond when they dont deal with it.

  2. Pretty fantastic June is being followed by an amazing july.

Heat and storms, plenty forweather enthusiasts to get their teeth into.

Ibiza awaits tomorrow for a week would be great to come back home to nice weather too.

Enjoy the storms guys and stay safe..

  3. MASSIVE contrast in the weather this week with the south east hot and sunny and here in the north west its been wet and miserable.

Soon as there is an westerly element to the wind direction its bad news for us in the north west of the country for sure.

  4. Bit disappointed in Thursdays forecast, the GFS precip charts must be hopeless as the last number of runs have just gone for high cloud and temps around 20 for the south of our region, but the bbc/meto just refusing to budge saying cool and unsettled Thursday.

Wed might well be our last truly nice day for a wee while actually.

  5. Well, its been a superb June for the majority with no or little rain to speak of.

I think on reflection,we have been very lucky esp when one considers the amount of northern blocking on offer during June.

Moving forward it does look quite changeable with the jet forcing those Atlantic systems on a more UK bound trajectory.

A spell of Atlantic weather is now pretty unavoidable but thats not to be unexpected, nearly all UK summers have unsettled spells.

  6. (apologies to stuart but there was no update posted on here yesterday)

UK Outlook for Wednesday 25 Jun 2014 to Wednesday 9 Jul 2014:

Through the latter part of June and into early July, there are indications that conditions may turn a little more unsettled, particularly across northwestern parts of the UK, with the best of the drier and brighter conditions towards the south and east. Temperatures are likely to be around average for eastern areas, and given the time of year, feeling warm in the sunshine, however temperatures may be a little below average in more unsettled northwestern areas.

Strange one that BA looking at the data at present to my eyes NW Britain looks best for any drier sunnier weather closer proximity to the high, cant really understand that update hand on heart..

  7. Away from the north west UK (they probably mean NW Scotland) it doesn't look too bad from next weekend till the 21st according to the met office

From next weekend onwards through the rest of this forecast period many areas are likely to see a good deal of fine and often dry weather, though occasional showers may affect some spots. Northwestern UK may not fare quite so well though and be a little more changeable with showers or longer spells of rain at times.

I wouldn't build my hopes up Gavin, next week looked good for a while now its just plain auld rubbish for most away from the SE.
