  1. Sorry but rain is on the way, I've been cleaning my windows.
  2. You calling me old? My husband has a Samsung galaxy and my son has a xperia and i can see why they can be useful. I just don't need one as I do all internet stuff on the laptop.
  3. i have a 5 year old Sony Ericsson K770i that is held together with parcel tape. Its suffered a lot of abuse and a couple of pixels have died but it lives on. I don't want a smart phone, just something to call and text. My first phone was a Nokia I bought second hand from my brother in 98/99. I remember my husband bringing home a new work phone with the ability to send text messages and i thought it was brilliant!
  4. First butterfly of the year for me today, a pristine Comma. Took a photo but haven't uploaded it yet.
  5. Glorious day Was chilly this morning when I went out with the dogs, the cold breeze made my ears hurt but this afternoon the breeze lessened and the sun was warmer. I went off for a wander around the back of the woods and around by the lake where it is sheltered and saw my first butterfly of the year, a pristine Comma and managed to get 1 photo. I soaked up the sun's rays and my vitamin D and happiness levels went up. I even got 2 loads of washing dry on the line. Now I want plenty more of the same!
  6. A few flakes in the air when I went out just before 7am. Now the sun is trying to make an appearance.
  7. Looking out of my kitchen window the sky looks pretty dark to my NE.
  8. Snow showers on and off for the last couple of hours and now the sun has made an appearance. Cor that wind just cuts right through you.
  9. Yes lets import all of our food because if we cannot get things growing it will be alot more than 40%, don't worry about the businesses in this country, lets create more unemployment. As for your 'do some reading' comment, I found that very patronising. As its our livelihood I am all too aware of the business of food production.
  10. So if we all went indoors in a nice warm office, where is all of your food going to come from? It needs to warm up now so the grass can grow to feed the cows and sheep, plants and trees to blossom to be pollinated by bees so you can get your fruit and veg etc etc yes nature and people have survived for thousands of years but we have a rather large population to feed now. I have mentioned several times over the months about how the cold costs the poor and vulnerable although not on this thread. Its this 'I'm all right jack' mentality and lack of empathy that riles people.
  11. If anyone mentions the D word this year I am likely to commit murder after the weather we had to put up with last year.
  12. Blue skies and sunshine and the temps have reached the dizzy heights of 7.1c but still chilly out in the wind. I went to visit my parents yesterday and that was seriously cold walking on the west wilts downs. Seemed daft being wrapped up with hats, gloves etc in April. Our daffodils in the garden had been in bud for a few weeks but showing no sign of opening up, the old man picked some yesterday and put them in a vase and within a couple of hours they were out in full flower.
  13. It looks stunning outside, blue skies and sunshine but its all wasted by the cold air. Looks like the wind will be even colder tomorrow. Might have to jump into Dancing daisy's suitcase.
  14. Sunny spells and dry which is good but temperature is only 4.5c which isn't. Noticed a comment up the page which I think was karlos saying that after next week we can look for spring warmth, I've been looking for the past month I want the air to warm slightly so I get get out on my bike and get rid of the winter padding, currently the cold air hurts my face
  15. I went outside earlier with the thought of maybe doing some gardening but lasted about 2 minutes before coming back inside to warm up. Temp 4.2c but feels around freezing.
  16. Although sad for us, I am really pleased for you Stewart as its a well deserved reward and I wish you massive luck in your new role.
  17. We had proper snow here just before it got dark but didn't settle.
  18. When I come out of hibernation I shall predict a glorious summer and hope that I can forecast better than Phil because Phil's predictions have been correct only 39% of the time
  19. I'm going back into hibernation, wake me up when its warm and sunny. I've got enough fat reserves to keep me going for a while. We have had light flurries on and off since just after 3pm.
  20. Castle Cary and the surrounding area only does 1 snow event each winter if we are lucky and we had ours in January
  21. Well the sun disappeared quite rapidly and we defaulted back to grey cloudy nothingness. No wintery precipitation here and the air is very dry with humidity being only 50%. I have found today far more comfortable to be outside, in comparison with previous days now the wind has eased.
  22. It is true that during the rest of the year there is no ramping of a particular weather type and generally through the spring/summer months the board is an awful lot quieter. I enjoy it then as I can read proper analysis of the charts without the bias and toy throwing.
