  1. Looking at the Netweather week 2 forecast for my town, there is a 3 hour period on Sunday when it isn't forecast to snow. Every other 3 hour period is forecast snow for the entire week Unfortunately, I'm heading down to London on Monday so I'll miss much of the fun, assuming it comes off as forecast which is a big " if " anyway!
  2. I was hoping someone had some radar of the event as I was pretty much flying blind. I was wondering why I kept having to go further south... that storm was certainly moving right! I left the storm shortly after that last shot as I suspected it was on a downward turn so nice to get that confirmed too! Feel free to share on your group. I have an album on facebook under my account you can share if you wish, too!
  3. First shot - 54°4'38" N 0°33'11" W - Probably YO25 3AQ - Time 6:38 according to my camera taking BST into account which appears about right Second shot - 54°3'16" N 0°32'58" W - Possibly YO25 3XS - Time 6:51 according to my camera taking BST into account

  7. Popped out with the camera after finishing work yesterday at 5:45pm. Got onto the storm which passed through Malton when it was near Sledmere in the Yorkshire Wolds. Visually, it appeared supercellular. Probably the best discrete storm structure I've witnessed in the UK! There's pretty spotty data coverage so I had no maps or radar, just played things by eye. 11 years chasing in the US helps in this regards First shot was East of Sledmere on the Bridlington road. The second two were south east of Sledmere on the Driffield road. Looking at Google maps, I probably could have gone a bit further south and found some open areas, but the view was too good to risk missing the show entirely! All in, I made it home from work, changed, grabbed camera, chased a probable supercell, got back home changed again, and was in the pub drinking a nice pint of cider in a little over 90 minutes Wish all chases were this easy hah! Approaching the storm from the east as it started to show epic structure! Storm at its most photogenic! Weirdly, the only bolt I captured. There was plenty of lightning though most CGs were landing in the rain core just right of frame and I missed two epic bolts which landed dead centre as I could only shoot for 0.5-0.8 second shots.
  8. Looks like the team have headed down to I40. Should be some god storms down there and a nice boundary which should focus some god cells (I suspect they might be HP however). I've stayed up around Woodward so far. Whilst I think storm coverage is less guaranteed up here, on the plus side, I'm hoping fewer chasers, less flooded roads as the MCS was much more severe down south last night, I'm hoping for less HP due to more sane dewpoints and there is a healthy outflow boundary heading in from out East which will probably increase low level shear up here. I'm hoping for an isolated cell to ride the boundary east from the Tx/Ok border towards me early evening... I'm probably being too optimistic but I'll also have more options tomorrow for the Northern play too!
  9. I also chased yesterday, targeting Spearman and arriving at about the time the first CU was bubbling to the south. Sat and watched the Stinnet-Spearman-Perryton complex from birth and saw the same tornadoes as the guys did. Got some good stable GoPro footage of the big tornado. Shame I mucked up most of my photos yesterday
  10. Booked flights for my personal chase a week ago and saw the same weirdness with prices. Cheapest flights for me were Manchester to Wichita, via LHR and DFW! worked out at £640, despite the individual flight from LHR to DFW coming out at more then that!
  11. Had a decent covering at high levels in Scarborough. A couple of cars in front of me incapable of making it up Stepney Hill on the A170 out of town, though that was more due to their ability to drive in slightly tricky conditions than the depth of the snow. Probably an inch or so on the road at the top. Mostly just slush the other side of the hill in the vale...
  12. Quick vid.. Can't here the thunder over the noise of the rain on the porch roof though :/
  13. Cracking storm in Scarborough at the moment. Constant thunder... hail over half an inch across and serious amount of rain... Car alarms going off on my street!
  14. I managed to punch through the core of that Rapid City cell and was treated to a hell of a display Car has seen better days though although in my defense, it was people blocking underpasses that got me stuck in the core! :/
  15. Frequent thunder starting to drown out the noise of the Motorcycle Road Racing which is still ongoing(!) at Oliver's Mount here in Scarborough.
  16. Sporadic but very loud thunder and lightning here on the East Coast at the moment. Nature's alarm clock...!
  17. Nice little storm went overhead with a decent amount of lightning and thunder.
  18. Just caught up with the last two episodes. Your Rozel bust looked painful, especially as it was so close to your original target. Cool footage of the Wichita area stuff the following day though. I was on the OKC storms that day and with everything that followed the next day, I didn't really see much of what happened up there! It really looked like that thing was about to get very big entering Wichita! Good job with finding the GoPro... Those things are tough as nails! I'm looking forward to the next episode. I think you guys were further NW than us in Moore. We missed a chunk of it getting our chase partners wife out of their home to safety. It's never good watching an EF5 from your friends driveway and I don't think she would have been happy if we went for a close intercept after that with her still in the car!
  19. Hi Chris, Watched this over the weekend and it looks as amazing as the last one! I chased May 17th - June 8th so I recognise almost all of the storms as I was nearby for most myself so look forward to trying to spot myself in a few episodes like last time round Only storm I think I missed was the Bennington one (if I recognised it correctly) which is still painful so I might have to skip that episode, heh! Still gotta have at least one bust per year! I look forward to seeing the rest of the episodes! I imagine things are going to ramp up quickly in the next few given the dates shown in the first! Cheers Nathan
  20. We have snow here in Scarborough at the moment. Honestly thought we'd be the wrong side of marginal for any today so that's good!
  21. Got snow here in Scarborough at the moment. Nothing too heavy and it hasn't got a chance of laying but first of the year is always good to see!
  22. Big X3.3 flare released from Sunspot 1890. Quite impulsive but any CME would likely have an earth directed component. Will have to wait and see if one has been generated...
  23. Had some nice little structure going there for a bit didn't it Shame my camera was at home!
  24. That is exactly where you'd expect the funnel cloud to be on a mature supercell. Difficult to see on the radar I have but looks like an apendage of High reflectivity on the SW side of the storm so could well be potentially tornadic. With your video as proof, this would probably be tornado warned if in the states
  25. Nice catch.... Definite funnel. You'd need to be closer to know if there was anything more
