  5. impressive also nice to see Scotland having some good weather well most of Scotland
  6. Matt Taylor the new Rob Mcelwee with that tease at the end
  7. 2006 things turned rubbish for 2 weeks in what was a great summer....cant remember the exact dates but i was off work grrrr,as for the weather averaging out i agree and after last winter thats what its doing now.......... but i still think mr and mrs hot n humid will make a return
  8. Agree with you Knocker,as do these.... http://www.wetterzentrale.de/pics/MT8_London_ens.png http://www.wetterzentrale.de/pics/MT2_London_ens.png looks like a fall of pressure but then an upward trend towards the later part the run i said to my wife back in may we wont get a july like last year..tbh its not been that far off here,we have done very well and that includes june just need a better august than previous years and for this part of the world itl be the best summer ive known since i had hair
  9. http://www.weathercast.co.uk/meteo/eps/ensemble-tt6-london.gif looking very warm to hot and more or less dry........London http://www.weathercast.co.uk/meteo/eps/ensemble-rrrcum-london.gif loving this summer so far, although not steamy hot here its been very pleasant with a mixture of warmth sun and a touch of rain, pretty much perfect growing weather.
  10. Indeed Frosty its been a very good summer so far here in sheep land.. good agreement between these two as well.......... http://mp1.met.psu.edu/~fxg1/ECMWF_12z/test8.gif
  11. warm, very warm/hot...then warm..... http://www.weathercast.co.uk/meteo/eps/ensemble-tt6-london.gif and pretty dry to boot...... http://www.weathercast.co.uk/meteo/eps/ensemble-rrrcum-london.gif London i know..... gotta say like has been said this summer although not hot..(so far ) has been a great ao far here in the land of the sheep.
  12. agree 100% im with you i see nothing to get excited about everything i look at points to nothing really settled at all...although the ECM ens do point to more settled as has been said to the south east of the country, seems to me though the northwest southeast split is getting smaller maybe kent will do alright the only way is up http://www.weathercast.co.uk/meteo/eps/ensemble-rrrcum-london.gif
  13. ref your virtual q the right hand corner of the fax reads metoffice.gov.uk instead of metoffice.no clue.uk as for these http://mp1.met.psu.edu/~fxg1/ECMWF_0z/test8.gif been looking for days at these and they change more times than the meto long ranger!
  14. Agree, been looking at these each day to see if there is any consistency... http://mp1.met.psu.edu/~fxg1/ECMWF_0z/test8.gif and well tbh there has not been along with these which i think are the more preferred ? http://www.cpc.ncep.noaa.gov/products/predictions/610day/610day.03.gif all i can see from the ens means is "slightly" better towards the south, this weather forecasting is not easy, got to say also the BBC's news 24's, 21.57 10 dayer takes some doing enjoying your posts too very informative keep up the good work
  15. Brave id say, also confusing i note on the bbc website they do the further ahead boxes at the top maybe thats where the idea came from, just watched the 10 dayer on news 24 and tbh seems the total opposite to what the bbc site says for my neck of the welly chasing hills .......not that it takes much to confuse a Tottenham fan http://www.cpc.ncep.noaa.gov/products/predictions/610day/610day.03.gif getting a bit better John H?
  16. UK Outlook for Wednesday 16 Jul 2014 to Wednesday 30 Jul 2014: High pressure continues to be positioned to the southwest, amplifying across the UK at times. This will lead to a changeable spell of weather with a mixture of drier and brighter conditions, but also the risk of some rain or showers at times. The best of the warmer weather is likely to be across southern parts whilst the north will likely see more frequent cloudier spells with outbreaks of rain. Updated: 1301 on Tue 1 Jul 2014 same again Stuart hope you dont mind from yesterday ..cheers
  17. UK Outlook for Sunday 6 Jul 2014 to Tuesday 15 Jul 2014:A changeable day on Sunday with a mixture of sunny spells and showers, these most frequent and heaviest in the north and west with some strong winds in the northwest too. On Monday, a band of rain looks to move eastwards across most areas, followed by showers and some drier and brighter interludes. Temperatures around average for July, but cooler in the rain and breezy northwest. From mid-week, there will be a gradual transition towards more settled conditions for a few days, with rain or showers becoming less frequent and lighter in the south, however, in the north rain is likely to continue at times. Temperatures will initially be near or slightly below average, with some chilly nights, but then likely to rise through the remainder of the period. Updated: 1118 on Tue 1 Jul 2014 hope you dont mind Stuart me dropping this in from yesterday
  18. cheers for that,i didnt know that, they say you learn something new everyday
  19. Seems to me the further south and west you are the conditions "should" be more settled going by these.... http://mp1.met.psu.edu/~fxg1/ECMWF_0z/test8.gif...( i know 3+days running) along with these... http://www.cpc.ncep.noaa.gov/products/predictions/610day/610day.03.gif being similar to each other gives a better view to where we are going... the Met update has surprised me today tbh i was expecting the outlook to be as good as yesterday, that said i remember reading once GP said stick to the ensemble means so tbh thats what i do. i cant post link to the charts as i do not know if im allowed to reproduce them from the site i get them from but i have found the..(ECMWF) ones to be very good so far this summer and like i said it looks to me like the further south and west you are the better the weather will be.
  20. agree,GP even though i didnt really get to read his thoughts as much as many on here did ....indeed had the b@lls to stand up when things didnt quite work out, summer 2011 was 3 months late im sure i recall 30c in october, the man was close very very close to the shades of 76....a big loss for NetWeather is someones lucky gain, and good luck to the man
  21. Met office seem pretty confident ref settling down somewhat after the weekend....i would say no chart is a given that includes the noaa and the height anomaly charts imo although i do agree with you somewhat.. the 500 height anomalies John H swears by are my first port of call in the mornings and i find them very good even better when they agree!!......for 3 days etc running.. http://mp1.met.psu.edu/~fxg1/ECMWF_0z/test8.gif grrrrrrrr ruddy typical http://mp1.met.psu.edu/~fxg1/ECMWF_12z/test8.gif also as Phil up top says the esm means are really quite decent
  22. ive been wondering that myself,a quality poster and loved his posts last july, quality
  23. Ens not too bad either...?...sorry cant post link to charts(temp wise i should add) that said a big change since this morning.............so confused .com
  24. Things looking up ref these, http://mp1.met.psu.edu/~fxg1/ECMWF_12z/test8.gif but like John H says who knows alot more than me regarding these charts they need to be consistant, but they are the best ive seen for a while, but these http://www.cpc.ncep.noaa.gov/products/predictions/814day/814day.03.gif not so much?? that said id take anything after todays 9c rainfest!
  25. Agree ive been looking at these every day and the last couple seem to be going in a good direction BUT like John H always says this must maintain and all three be similar(ish)? http://mp1.met.psu.edu/~fxg1/ECMWF_12z/test8.gif http://www.cpc.ncep.noaa.gov/products/predictions/814day/814day.03.gif also looking at the ensembles they look nice if your after something summery and also these http://www.wetterzentrale.de/pics/MT8_London_ens.png are none too shabby....not completely dry but if it gotta rain id prefer it warm!
