  1. Unlikely unless they fancy expensive repairs! Last night at LTN they switched the runways around because of this landing into a tailwind, but wind is too strong for that at the moment.
  2. So for days building up to this point, and our area is likely to get very little today or tomorrow, going by the latest BBC forecast. Last night's Buzzard storm was so slow moving it died out before it got here. My grass is not grass anymore! Desperate for rain!
  3. Hang on a sec - surely Lincs is the epicentre of extreme weather over recent years?
  4. 26c here in mid Beds, DP 17, 59% humidity Ripe as a banana.
  5. There's a WZZ A320 on finals into LTN right now... not sure I'd want to be in that machine right now! Not going to be a nice ride in there.
  6. Another cell has popped up between the NW London and Oxford cells, SW of Luton.
  7. Good lord that is incredible. The monster of all mother ships...
  8. Can see two very impressive cells to my south and west here in mid Beds. What a beauty.
  9. The Home Counties convection line between Birmingham and London looks spot on for evening storms later.
  10. 50,000 lightning strikes over the UK last night, for what it's worth. Probably just the aperitif in comparison to what is coming down the track later this week...
  11. Did anything drop out of this? Looks like a classic storm...
  12. Good morning everyone - hope you all didn’t sleep as badly as I did! What was the final score with the overnight high last night - any records broken?
  13. Thunder and lightning in the Northampton area I am reliably informed; pouring down.
  14. Likewise here in MK45 the wind has really increased in the last 15 mins... darker clouds coming from the west for sure.
  15. Currently 36c here in the Bedford area... plenty of energy to tap into!
  16. Good morning everyone, looks like the storms are starting the ramp up across the Home Counties already. Here in Bedford a very distinct red sky this morning and distant rain clouds although not looking too unstable at this time.
  17. Pushing up towards 2000 in that 1500z snapshot... a lot of energy there waiting to go bang.
  18. Wow Friday indeed is looking very interesting. Around 1200-1500kJ of CAPE and LI up to around -4 to -6 in some areas! That is strong instability and a real potential for "severe".
  19. I'd say a fair chunk of the southern half of the country will be in with a chance. In my eyes, the best out of the three middle days this week. LI up to around -2 and -3, some upper level jet activity and CAPE around 700-1000 widely.
