  1. Yep very heavy in Tonbridge for the last half hour. Depth building nicely. Temp -1.2c in my back garden.
  2. Tonbridge seems to be in the sweet spot for once. It's a white wonderland outside and the showers keep piling in. Not seen this much snow for a few years.
  3. Please make it rain! Or better make it winter.
  4. I was there too, and it was wonderful. My job was to keep the open fires going day and night. We built an igloo that lasted for weeks. Thick ice on the inside of the windows in the morning, Out on the sledge most days. Not nostalgia; I simply love cold weather! Bring on the easterly.
  5. I've got -5.9C now in Tonbridge. Not seen that for a while.
  6. Temperature dropping steadily now. From max of 8 earlier to 6.6 now.
  7. Counting the weeks down to winter start. Six years in Riyadh made me allergic to hot weather! Bring on the rain....please.
  8. My brother in Heathfield reports heavy snow and a light covering. (Heathfield E. Sussex)
  9. Sleet now in Tonbridge. Temp has dropped a tad but the cars look wet. At least something is coming out of the sky now!
  10. Nothing in Tonbridge but I'm near sea level. Halstead is not far but much higher. Temp has risen to 0.9C.
  11. Just taken my son home and the temperature on the car thermometer was an unbelievable 14C. at midnight! It feels more like a summer night than a mid-winter night. For a coldie like me this is pretty desperate. Things have got to change - haven't they?? Happy New Year to you all,
  12. Please make it rain......... I am ticking off the days until the start of winter. Perhaps I am odd, but whenever I say that I do not like hot sunny weather people look at me as some sort of mad person. I can't believe I am alone in disliking hot weather...am I?
  13. Lovely blizzard in Tonbridge. Not much on the ground but it is blowing around a lot ant the temperature is below 0.

  15. Update from Tonbridge. Just been out for a walk and the snow is heavy but very small flakes. 2-3 cm on ground with local roads covered. Temp around 0.0c., has risen slightly in the last two hours. I noticed that there is a railway snowplough in the yard with a locomotive attached and the engine running! Maybe NR know something we don't.
  16. A few flakes here an hour ago. Nothing since. Getting a stiff neck looking at the lamppost!
