  1. You beat me to it on both accounts Summer Sun, John holmes and others have put some excellent learning material on that thread its a great read if you want to learn the basics of charts etc. and gibby puts his own view point forward what is totally unbiased ,but it is always best not to get excited by charts as they constantly change. There are some fantastic charts for cold on offer but i think alot of users have got carried away after for 2009, 2010(anything less than a foot of snow is a nightmare) lets be honest after the 2011 and 21012 november/december we are in a great position looking at the hemisphere charts. here in leicester we didn't even get a frost in 2011 and here we are moaning if theres going to be snow in november i.e autumn.
  2. well with Gavin displaying his usual array of high pressure charts for next week spring and summer is on its way so I'm going to dig out my shorts and pack away the winter clobber lol
  3. It wasn't a dig guys I know what it shows but some browsetrs of the site may not, just a little commentary when showing a chart would nice.
  4. Thanks for that Gavin, but comments on the charts would be as appreciated as I think most members can view these. For the less learned what do these show. Sorry for the comment mods but just posting a chart/graph/table with no comment really Tutes me off
  5. Luckily i am old enought to remember 1984 and 1991 where we had bucket loads in Leicester but this could be up there with those events if this carries on how long it is predicted to, 2010 was brilliant for cold but we never really got the full impact of the snow is it our turn finally. Looked at the Met site and they don't have us down for any snow tomorrow but it would appear they are unsure as the last update to there site was at 14.00????
  6. I'm currently in the city centre and we have a decent accumlation here and it never usually settles in the centre so can't wait to get home and see how much we got, been a good few years since walked home from work in heavy snow can't wait!!!!!
  7. Andy I am really shocked by how much we have here in Leicester its usually the snow Abyss of the Midlands, and it certainly don't seem like stoping anythime soon
  8. According to radar snow should start picking up a little here soon. Wouldn't be hard.. these are the smallest flakes ever witnessed, millions of the buggers, but they're sub mm in size. Barely even see them using a lampost. Haha i know its like a mist its been doing it since about 6.30 and the car has only just got a thin covering on it, you really do have to look hard to be able to see it, whats the radar showing them kmanmx ?
  9. andy the stuff we have comin down at the minute would have to be non stop for a year to get 1cm oh well mate it looked promising an hour ago
  10. Accoding to the recent update andy from the met snow till midnightish can't see it myself but we will see
  11. Tellow u should b ok mate I'm in the city centre and there is steady snow fall starting to come down
  12. Andy snow flake alert wafer thin but it's a start
  13. Andy I think that Leicester snow shield is back in full working order, met updated not long ago still showing heavy snow for Leicester but wether it can get past the shield is another thing
  14. yes andy a good one for leicester for a change makes up for the cr@p result today, still coming down aswell failrly heavy
  15. Where abouts in Leicester are u mate where we are near fosse park it's bucketing down, as u say though the best is hopefully still to come
