Sky News meteorologist Christopher England said: "The really cold days are going to begin on Wednesday, when we'll see some easterly winds coming in from Scandinavia. "At the moment we've got temperatures of around seven, eight or nine degrees Celsius (44.6-48.2F), but it will be more like two or three (35.6-37.4F) later in the week. "That will certainly mean widespread overground frost. "Those sorts of temperatures are going to last into the weekend, when we might even see some snow flurries in the south. "It will be cold enough for snow, but that's all we can say at this stage." Parts of the country received up to 4ft of snow at the end of January. The weather left hundreds of motorists stranded as travel networks were crippled, with disruption continuing as melting snow and heavy rain caused flooding.

confused.com......based on the latest met forecast im unsure if dunfermline will see snow sunday/monday.....if it doesnt im in trouble with my daughter who is currently cleaning and prepping her sledge!!!

forgive me for being amatuerish but as a snow lover i am a bit concerned about the lack of -10 upper temps to go with the beast from the east. Iknow folks are saying dont worry but to me it looks like there is not enough embedded cold coming from the east. Great start to winter though
