  1. To be honest, really not sure on the first one but loving the third one Awesome stuff though Pat, I wouldn't have a clue on where to start doing stuff like that.
  2. Thanks Kar, god knows what it was then, was really weird.
  3. Now I know that was no hope in hell of me seeing it so far south, but there is something on the horizon that looks odd and greenish, phoned a friend who had a better view up on the hill, and he said he could see something greenish too! is it likely to be it or just us hoping a tad too much?
  4. I am no longer part of the no storm club! nice storm passed over here about 3 accompanied by torrential rain that flooded local train station and the roads were like rivers, met office warnings for every county in the south east apart from Surrey!
  5. Thanks Harry, I feel slightly better about not having a storm.... but only slightly.
  6. you are not the only one to wonder, have just googled and a few of articles have come up about it. http://www.kevinmartyn.com/blog-posts/thoughts/where-have-all-the-swallows-gone/ http://www.thisissouthdevon.co.uk/columnists/Birds-wire-disappear/article-2460537-detail/article.html
  7. I haven't heard any here for the past week, wonder if the cooler weather has something to do with it?
  8. Yep sat at window for me too, watching the storms bounce between north and south downs. That storm of 1972 was cause by the earth rebelling against me being born
  9. I wouldn't say I used to have a phobia of storms but I had a great dislike of them, but thanks to my dad forcing me to watch out for lightning to show me how beautiful it was, the dislike was overcome by the want of seeing or photographing it.
  10. 18c and drizzley Wind From Southwest at 11 kmph Humidity 94% Pressure 1,011.85 mb
  11. Coast, I do still have my shin kickers you know, I know I can't use them officially, but who's gonna know CF, I saw another one today too! two in one day, I shall probably never see another in my life again. *sigh*
  12. Never seen anything like it before, it was quite freaky but now I know what it is, it's not so freaky. Thanks guys for your replies
  13. Ah that makes sense, thank you. But what would give the impression it is speeding across the sky?
  14. I have just seen the oddest thing ever. A very thin line of what looked to be cloud stretch from east to west, racing across the sky from north to south. I thought initially it was shadow until I noticed how long it. I say it was cloud because that is the only explaination I have, although when it did pass over the tiny bit of blue sky we have it seem to vanish. Took a couple of pics, sorry they are not very good. I didn't think I would have time to dash in and get my camera, so used my phone instead. Has anyone seen this before? Can anyone explain what it was and why it happens? Any thoughts would really be appreciated.
  15. 15c overcast and a very slight breeze. Dry at the mo, but have had some rain albeit not very much, overnight.
  16. We have had another little shower early this morning, but nothing to get excited over that is for sure, according to the local schools weather site 0.5mm
  17. Well thanking you both kindly. It looks like we have about 1mm of rain in the past four weeks in Surrey, not very much at all!
  18. top temp of 22c with some very light rain earlier in the day, mainly overcast with the odd warm sunny moment.
  19. We have had soo little in the past few weeks, I assumed it rained overnight at some point as the chairs outside were wet, but the ground didn't benefit from it at all, so it must have been very little. The ground is starting to crack here, but then again I do live on clay, so easily dried and cracked. Any idea where I can get rain data for the past couple of months for my area?
  20. stopped snowing here now and winds have picked up, current temp 0c , wonder if that is it for tonight.
  21. Ooooo any thunder? was hoping for a bit of thundersnow this year.
  22. Ha you funny chappy you I can't help it if I am eight feet tall.... now mr funny, can you tell me if the band is likely to drop or not? hmmm?
  23. Just a quick welcome to all the new members who have joined or posted for the first time today! Snow is quite heavy here now, not sure if the band will feed across us or just drop below us in the next couple of hours.
  24. Yeah I saw that too, they saying possibly (needs to be kept an eye on) another massive dumping of snow on the south on Sunday, I shall believe it if they are still saying the same on Friday and Saturday up til then
