Yep, it's the Google Pixel 3a using the Night Sight function. If it's of any use, the f stop is 1.8 , 4.44 mm, and ISO 304 with about a 40 second exposure. It's all automatic though, the camera's AI does all the heavy lifting.

I've got the Pixel 3aXL (same camera/software.) I bought it for the camera and I'd never have believed a smartphone could take such amazing low light/night photos. I've also got a Nikon DSLR but the phone is so convenient.

We have a very nasty storm here at the moment.  Lightening is terrifying.  I cut my finger quite badly at tea time and very nearly cut another one off when this storm suddenly kicked off about 15 minutes ago I jumped so much!!!

Yep..got it here. Massive flash here just with almost instant thunder. Took the power out for a couple of seconds as it struck. We have overhead power cables so frequently get outages with power surges.

Its sort of rumbling around frequently but not “getting going” so to speak.  I am in the house so might be missing something but I haven’t seen any lightening yet - has anyone else local to me seen any?

Had about an hour of downpours on and off including thunder and lightning. Seems to have drifted off over north of Telford now. I can still hear rumbling.

I found it very hard to get the information I needed on how to protect my pension from the volatility of the daily and mostly downward direction of the markets, but anyone with pension portfolio's or government funds can move the money within it to protect it. I think the equity markets are going to drop lower still, cash is king at the moment and moving into cash based funds for the time being may save a lot of money, and buy back into equities when they are a bit more stable.

Markets may well fall further but the time to sell was a few weeks ago. Selling now is like trying to catch a falling knife. You'll get a lot less cash if you crystallise your losses now. I was hoping to retire soon but most of my pot, like millions of others, is c.25-30% less than it was a couple of weeks ago. Fortunately I have part of the pot in cash as a buffer but it may take years to regain the losses.

As we found over the past election folk can run into mental issues if they stay up close and personal to multiple media outlets for too long a time when they are heavily invested in the issues ?

Folk might find it to their benefit to take a few hours/days away from media every so often when it's all getting too much for them?

Don't run the risk of letting the stresses of this unfolding crisis lead you into poor mental health!

We're all here to talk to/pm if we have worries?

I'm sure all of us will help where we can!

    Be Well folks!

Yep a break from breaking news sounds like a good plan.

The dog always wants a walk, so whilst we can still go out we're all off to blow the cobwebs away for a long walk on the beach! (Well away from other folk).

  6. I've popped into a couple of supermarkets as I've  been passing over the last 2 or 3 days not to stockpile but to buy normal fresh produce veg, milk, meat, bread wine, beer etc. Previously the obvious things like looroll, pasta, cleaning products etc had all disappeared but today was different. Whole sections of the supermarket had been desimated. Frozen foods, meat, bread, tinned goods. Maybe it's because it's Saturday and more people generally shop but I suspect panic buying has gone up a gear or three!

A villa on the east coast. I suspect travel bans will become increasingly commonplace over the coming days.

Even if travel is possible, I believe most insurance companies have excluded covid19 cover on any new travel insurance policies from yesterday/today. Pre-existing policies should be covered.

Some of the UK's leading insurance companies cut back on travel policies because of coronavirus

I'm still not sure if it is now a notifiable disease?  Initially it was not,  then there was talk of it would be for insurance reasons but no idea if that happened?

It is. Ironically (and sadly) the health MP Nadine Dorries came down with coronavirus the day she signed the statutory instrument declaring it notifiable a week last Friday.

A really nasty night, now.  The rain is very heavy and is hammering on the windows in strong gusty westerly winds.  I detest this type of weather and cannot get it out of my head that the roof must be leaking in such conditions.  I won't get much sleep until the rain eases up later tonight.  Then we can look forward to even stronger gales as 'Storm Atiyia' arrives tomorrow evening and overnight.  Lovely.

Yep...wasn't expecting it to be so rough until tomorrow. 50-60 mph gusts here in NW Snowdonia currently. The wheelie bin has had be restrained!

  10. The forecasts promise us Beyoncé and we end up with Susan Boyle.

To be fair, for a few days there's been signals that today's front could go further south. It was never a cert and I don't recall any forecasts saying as such.
