Either there's a delay in this system, or wind speeds are not as strong as forecast for down here..

I once had a prop plane flight Southampton to Dublin, circled around above the Irish Sea for 30 mins waiting to see if the winds over the airfield dropped enough to within tolerances. Eventually the pilot told us we were going in anyway as the option of returning to bristol, cardiff, whatever was no longer viable because of winds increasing there.
so we plopped down onto the runway, perfect landing, hardly a bump… but couldn’t get onto the stand and when we got off via the steps you could hardly stand up in the strength of the wind.
I talked to the crew and apparently the wind had veered a bit so it was less of a crosswind, otherwise we’d been off to amsterdam or Newcastle or something.
Why not back to Southampton it's closer ...

Thing is, I don't mind the mild weather.. It's the incessant rain and wind. If the upcoming spell was predominately sunny it'd be quite pleasant.
Bang on the money!!!! It's not the heat - It's the wet!

I agree, very confusing. I think an overview map is useful but you should be able to click on a county (or at least region) and get detailed information for that area.
Exactly!?
