  1. My first post here for several years, despite lurking and learning! My partner and I were in Dunning, Perthshire last Sunday (22nd), and spotted this funnel cloud with a small brief rope, dropping from a dark Cb nearby. There were a few flashed and rumbles, with heavy rain visible over Perth. Nowt like a bit of local storm-chasing :)

      Bloomin' 'ell, that's brilliant!

I do have these two METAR readings from Sunday (though they're based Stornoway [Timed 3:20pm, 3:50pm]), but could've been from the same cell/storm.

Amazing picture, and a very warm welcome. :)

Pop a mention to this, if you haven't already, in the Scottish thread. :) Link: https://www.netweather.tv/forum/topic/85239-scotland-weather-chat-spring-2016-onwards/

Thanks, Dale and Paul! My intention was to post in the Scottish thread, but couldn't work out how to... will try again later. This pic was taken around 7.15pm, so probably not the same cell. There were two periods of intense convective activity on Sunday in our neck of the woods - around midday, when we left Edinburgh (hail & intense downpours) and again around tea time, when the storm I captured fired up. There were several cells all building rapidly at the same time close to Perth - atmosphere very unstable, obviously.
