Mists, Hot, Rain, Bit of snow. Thick frosts are awesome
  1. An absolute cracker of a late Autumn's day today .. frost which lasted pretty much all day and not getting above 2'C

  2. Ouch .. that will hurt for days to come! Typical non-league havoc
  3. A harsh frost tonight, snow for half of us before Monday and chilly all around ... but apparently that's no where near enough for some.

Well said. Some folk can't see the wood for the trees.

It amazes me too!! Some folk want wall to wall frontal snow from 1st Dec to 1st march ...

Of course, we all dream for that ... but most know it's impossible and therefore it's best not to blab on about it

  4. I wonder, will my walk on the local Pennine hills consist of walking on snow next weekend? Today we have had bright sunshine :)

  5. I'm downgrading to Windows XP Still may favourite ever operating system! But what I'm really going to do is wait for the reviewers to say their stuff, if it seems good, I might see into buying a new laptop next year sometime, probably might be a year away though until I can afford one. An upgrade isn't really an option for me since my laptop is showing signs of struggling handling Windows 7 although if I had a fast enough laptop I might have upgraded
  6. Horrible weather. Light started to fade at 6:30 and the rain started at 3

  7. What's with the GFS 6Z run after Tuesday next week? Where an earth has that come from? Hopefully an inaccurate run ..

  8. A beautiful day :D Cloudy this morning, wall to wall this afternoon. Warmer but by no means hot during weekend, unsettled next week

Relative to average its hot but isn't 'hot' as such... But then its all relative & subjective really!

      wimblettben

For September it is unusually hot. But in Summer it is just the usual hot day as it should be.

I wouldn't regard 27'C as too hot. Over 30'C I would. It doesn't matter whether it's in September or not

  9. Your forgetting that the previous winter (09/10) had snow cover for a long time also. 2009/10 for me was the snowiest. Are you getting confused between 2011 and 2010? Both November and December featured milder than average temperatures although 2010 of course didn't (nor did December '09) It all depends on what you define 'worst' winters ... although not many people would consider 2008/09 or 09/10 not severe. My apologizes if you are referring to winter months rather than whole seasons.
  10. It seriously now goes dark too early for my liking. I hate it.

go to work in dark, leave work in dark, horrible

      AutumnMists

It's horrible the fact that in November and December in weekdays, I don't actually get to see my house in the light ...

      Fly south then.

  11. A horrible start but a beautiful end. :D Hopefully the sunshine will beat the clouds as we progress through the week.

One thing us Northerners don't want is mildish temperatures coupled with clouds and drizzle because that would be boring

  12. A beautiful pleasant day with sunshine and clouds although the sun just doesn't seem to provide that extra heat like it did four weeks ago

  13. Snow? Heatwave? Blue Skies for a month? Warmth until November? Lol.
  14. It's, cold. Heating's staying off though

Yep. Sure is a 'quiet' and rather 'lonely' time is early Autumn ... After the hype of the Summer, there's a bit of a gap until the hype of the Winter and Christmas ... A gap which also provides perhaps the most interesting weather in the whole year.

No peace here early autumn- once kids are back its traffic chaos again and even worse once uni goes back. Then add dark evenings by late Oct for a cocktail of commuting 'delight'...

    4. AutumnMists

      AutumnMists

Well I suppose it also depends on where you live though with the traffic and that ... here in the Pennines it should be alright.

  15. Feels like Autumn :( Storms, wet and wind

Yep. Coupled with 'shorter' days, Summer is slowly but surely starting to peter out, except for a hopefully drier and warmer spell next week. After that though it does look a bit grim

    3. Summer Sun

      Summer Sun

well if WSI are right we can look forward to a warm Autumn :D

First half warm, second half stormy would do me!
