  1. Squall came through after dark here in Corscombe outside Yeovil around 1820. Drove up the top of Tollar Down ridge behind us and watched it come through (pic 1 - getting wet as it hit!). On the tail end of the line as it was illuminated by the streetlights of Yeovil was whats in pic 2. Sorry for the lockness-like vague image but it was after dark. It looked like either a wall cloud or maybe even a funnel?

Either way was a great experience :)

  2. Was an ok day! No thunder but some intense downpours and a different condition in the sky every 20 mins. Ive seen it all today from cloudless blue skies to ominous pitch black walls of goodness, chewing a pack of batteries in the process lol To cherry up the day, as the rear of this monster of a storm passed just to my East, it let me have some Mammatus Cloud - My first time seeing it ^^ (pic)

So tomorrow the girlfriend and I are getting up at silly O'Clock and heading East with some mobile Internet and a fresh pack of batteries. Is it too soon to talk targets?

    Cheers,

    Ray

  3. Was in the car driving round the Dorchester bypass from Ringwood to Yeovil about 1115 when it passed over. Low scrawly cloud out front then into a dark gray wall of water like a car wash. Traffic slowed to a crawl as the road flooded like a small river as it washed past us. With the wipers on full the windscreen was swamped and after an overhead flash of lightning and crackling thunder rawr the taps came on and the traffic stopped. Winds got up and buffeted us as the road river swept past, a few more flashes and then it calmed down to heavy rain for the rest of the journey home. Crazy crazy rain. happy.png
