Hey folks! Popping my head round the door from the TIA Project and MWUK to show you a few pics from around 8pm this evening. We were treated to some yummy Undulatus Asperatus in Yeovil, Somerset just before our first rain band rocked through. Hope everyone down the South West gets a stormy sleepless night!
Cheers guys

GFS maybe pointing to an area over exmoor late in the day? Maybe a chance of something getting its feet wet in the bristol channel?

Squall line rocked through 1350 - 1400 for us near Yeovil. Unfortunately it rather died on us before picking up again 30mins down the road lol Never the less got a good snap of the front trooping through.
Nice to finally see one during the day!

As Ollie Williams would say ... "It's gon rain!"
Clouds are really low and dark this morning and its blustery too. Typical considering i've got to wash my car ...

Morning folks, been an interesting start to the day. Had a few real heavy showers track right past us with some wicked gusty winds. One moment its sunshine and white fluffy clouds the next the rain is sideways lol Radar says we've got some sunshine for a while so heres a few snaps i grabbed! Have a good day and roll on friday

Squall came through after dark here in Corscombe outside Yeovil around 1820. Drove up the top of Tollar Down ridge behind us and watched it come through (pic 1 - getting wet as it hit!). On the tail end of the line as it was illuminated by the streetlights of Yeovil was whats in pic 2. Sorry for the lockness-like vague image but it was after dark. It looked like either a wall cloud or maybe even a funnel?
Either way was a great experience

@Wet'n'Dry
Oooh Mama!
When did you snap that?
About 17.50 (says the time stamp on camera) over Yeovil in Somerset as the cell slinked away from us. Wonder if we'll see more tomoz

Was an ok day! No thunder but some intense downpours and a different condition in the sky every 20 mins. Ive seen it all today from cloudless blue skies to ominous pitch black walls of goodness, chewing a pack of batteries in the process lol To cherry up the day, as the rear of this monster of a storm passed just to my East, it let me have some Mammatus Cloud - My first time seeing it ^^ (pic)
So tomorrow the girlfriend and I are getting up at silly O'Clock and heading East with some mobile Internet and a fresh pack of batteries. Is it too soon to talk targets?
Cheers,
Ray

Lo folks,
Yeovil, Somerset has just taken a 15 min (1545 - 1600) storm heading North. Good 6 or 7 nice flashes with loud rumbles right over the house. Loads of heavy hail mixed in and the rains still going although the storms moved on.
Id like a refund on this months no-storms-club membership thanks

The prediction Bristol might get some seems to ring true down here in Yeovil ... (See pic)
As for me, the partner and I were just heading out the door to go chase when our grumpy landlord and her bratty 13 year old daughter jumped us. Now im having to paint her room whilst landlord chainsmokes in my face

2340: winds starting to gust up a bit now. The trees are going for a sway and the skylight windows are whistling (should probably fix that)
expecting show time in the next 20 mins or so . . .
0015: aaaannnyy min now

Was in the car driving round the Dorchester bypass from Ringwood to Yeovil about 1115 when it passed over. Low scrawly cloud out front then into a dark gray wall of water like a car wash. Traffic slowed to a crawl as the road flooded like a small river as it washed past us. With the wipers on full the windscreen was swamped and after an overhead flash of lightning and crackling thunder rawr the taps came on and the traffic stopped. Winds got up and buffeted us as the road river swept past, a few more flashes and then it calmed down to heavy rain for the rest of the journey home. Crazy crazy rain.
